California State Parks’ Cannabis Watershed Protection Program, Gold Ridge Resource Conservation District, NOAA Fisheries, and local conservation organizations are working together in Sonoma Coast State Park to restore the habitat on Willow Creek: one of the most important tributaries for Coho salmon recovery in California’s Russian River watershed.

Thanks to years of hard work and partnerships on the Willow Creek project, Coho salmon are now returning to Willow Creek to spawn - a hopeful sign that recovery is possible when communities work together and commit to restoring the natural habitat that wildlife and humans depend on together.

Step into the story of Pond Farm Pottery 🌿We’re excited to launch a new virtual experience exploring this historic site in Austin Creek State Recreation Area. It was the home and studio of Bauhaus-trained ceramicist Marguerite Friedlaender Wildenhain. After fleeing Europe during World War II, she created a way of life that inspired generations. Join former students and park interpreters as they share stories and reflections, bringing the legacy of Pond Farm Pottery to life in a whole new way.
