More projects at the park before opening day, thanks to the grounds and highway crew for their help. The foul poles on Pezzella and Lowell were painted along with the gates. A new outlet was installed at the base of the Pezzella scoreboard. Work will continue on Grady field and the new benches and tables are being installed in the coming weeks.

We also ask that there are no vehicles driven onto the fields for any reason. All vehicles must be parked in designated parking areas. Please be mindful of posted no parking signage in front of gates and in fire lanes. There is more work planned for more permanent signage and gates for parking areas.

A friendly reminder, as we get ready for opening day and warmer weather there is going to be a lot more activity at the park. We ask that all pets are kept on leashes and off the infields. And please pick up any đź’©.

We have started the process to de-winterize our facilities and are planning to have the bathrooms opened the week of 4/20 (before opening day). There's currently a single portable toilet near the tennis and basketball courts.

For anyone planning to use the tennis/pickleball courts or any other area, please check the schedule at the bottom of our field use page mendonma.gov/parks-use Hopedale is using our tennis courts this spring while their park is being re-built so there's a little more activity than usual. As always the courts and other facilities are open for general public use when not otherwise booked however any organized events, groups, or leagues need to put in a facility use application.

Registrations are open for the 2026 Kids 'N' Us Summer Recreation Program! Apologies for the delays, we are finally ready to debut our new registration system, UltraCamp. All pricing remains the same. Dates and field trip info are on the flyer.

Registration link: mendonma.gov/ultracamp

New features with UltraCamp include:
• Self-service options to let customers directly update registrations and swap dates. Customers can now edit their own registrations to swap or cancel dates up to 2 weeks before each start date
• Ability for customers to edit their swim level responses or other form responses as needed from their account.
• Multiple payment plans to pay in installments instead of the 50% or 100% options
• All payment plans are automatic so no more having to remember to go back in and pay the remaining balance due for each week.
• responsive design that actually works correctly with mobile devices
• Integrated attendance and authorized pick-up tracking (no more paper sign in sheets for us)
• Future option to self-select groups (for now, once we process them in June, you'll see the groups (1, 2 or 3) assigned under the lodging section once you register. (we need to test this feature a bit more before rolling it out)

One note, once you sign up for any number of days within a week, to go back and add additional dates in the same week you need to edit the existing registration from your account. We will be updating our FAQ page with more instructions soon.

If you had a user credit in the old Rec1 system, please contact us after setting up an account ([email protected]) and we will transfer it. We will be manually reviewing these as well.

Please if you notice any issues let us know. We are excited for another great summer!

The rear parking area for Veteran’s Field is now closed for the season. You can still access the fields and walking path by parking in the front and walking back.

The bathrooms at Memorial Park will be closed for the season as of 11/1 as we have to winterize the system and turn the water off for the winter. They will re-open in mid-April 2026.

Another parking/grass update....This week the grounds crew leveled and re-seeded this area going up from Taft Ave by the basketball/tennis courts. We ask those accessing the courts and park from the Taft Ave side to please use the designated parking areas; either the paved Taft Ave lot, the grass lot around the Classroom, or the gravel lot up by the playground. There is no parking on the grass areas along the court fence anymore.

All the vehicles parking up against the tennis court fence (along with the trenching from the lighting project) have killed the grass and without grass to stabilize things, when it rains these areas wash out. Please also avoid walking on the dirt areas here when accessing the courts.

As a reminder, the courts are open and lights are on daily from around sunset until 10pm through 10/31.

For those who may have missed it, as part of this years' budget Mendon voters approved the creation of a full-time Grounds Maintenance Foreman position. This new position has allowed us to restructure and transition the landscape/grounds work over to the Highway Department and better leverage their resources to work together to complete projects like this. There's already been a ton of work done and there's plenty more to come now that the Town has a dedicated position for grounds maintenance.

Last week the grounds crew leveled out and reseeded this area at Memorial Park by the gaga ball pits. (This was some remaining damage from the lighting construction project)

Please keep out of this area and off the dirt so the new grass can grow.
