📣DSP Appreciation Week (September 14-18) is in two weeks, and Dungarvin is gearing up to celebrate our wonderful Direct Support Professionals!

Back this year is Spirit Week, during which staff across the country show their spirit by dressing up for themes each day. But, we’re so excited that we are starting ONE WEEK EARLIER by featuring Dungarvin’s nominees and winners for this year’s ANCOR American Network of Community Options and Resources DSP of the Year awards.

From Sept. 5 – 12, we will feature 5 individuals daily, creating a week-long “pre-celebration” before kicking off the official DSP Appreciation Week on Sept. 14. This is where you come in!

This is your chance to show the love to our hardworking Direct Support Professionals. All you have to do is Like/Comment/and Share posts all week to show your support!

And, let’s make sure that the individuals we serve join in on the fun, too. If you have a connection with someone, please help them follow us on this channel so they can celebrate their DSPs and see the stories we share about them every week.

Did someone order up some “Texas Summer Fun?” ..that’s right, WE did! 🎢

The Dungarvin San Angelo staff just completed a very special end-of-summer event. “To break up the everyday routine of those we support and celebrate the end of the season, we decided to flip the script and let everyone choose what their ideal summer day would be,” explained Direct Support Professional Karen Garza. Also in attendance were Direct Care Supervisors Samantha Lopez and Angela Ruiz.

The men of San Angelo opted for unlimited arcade games while the ladies chose to visit Morgan’s Wonderland Waterpark.

Looks like everyone had fun! Way to go Dungarvin Texas!

Congratulations, Barb! 🎉

The Dungarvin Indiana team recently gathered to celebrate their colleague Barb Stanford’s 10-year Milestone Anniversary with the organization. Barb, Indiana’s State Office Manager, is often described as the “glue that holds things together,” with her steady presence, deep knowledge and unfailing willingness to help out in any way she can.

Unable to think of a good reason not to (even despite the incline’s 2,768 rugged steps), they enlisted the partnership of another HR colleague from Colorado, and the planning began.

🏠 In December 2025, Dearmi Napitupulu and Anto Pasaribu (Dungarvin Colorado Host Home providers) welcomed Jonathan into their home to care for and support him in all aspects of his daily living.

It can be difficult work at times, but the couple loves it and their compassion and problem-solving skills have resulted in an expanded world for Jonathan.
