Looking for a new go to craft? Why not Salt Painting?

MATERIALS

Card stock*
Squeeze bottle of glue (such as Elmers)
Table salt
Liquid watercolors** ( normal watercolors work well too!)
Paint brushes or Droppers
*Any sturdy art surface will do. We’ve done this with card stock, poster board, cardboard, watercolor paper, paper plates, and foam core.

**Liquid watercolors are great for this activity. If you don’t have any, you can make your own by watering down food coloring.

Time needed: 1 hour.

INSTRUCTIONS

1.Squeeze glue designs onto your card stock

2. Carefully sprinkle salt onto cardstock until the glue is thoroughly covered. Tip to let excess salt fall away. A baking dish or tray helps to contain the salt.

3. Dip your paint brush into lyour watercolors and then gently touch to the salt-covered glue lines. Watch the paint “magically” travel in both directions!
If you like, you can use a dropper or pipette instead of a paint brush to add your watercolor paint. We find that this can add a bit too much paint at a time, but I know that many people like this method.

The drying process may take a day or two.1.

Cool off with this new twist on a couple of summer classics: Root Beer Float Popsicles! These 2 ingredient popsicles are super easy to make, and even easier to enjoy!
Supplies needed:
-12-14 ounces Root Beer ( cream soda or any other base for a float)
-1 1/4 cup Vanilla Bean ice cream , slightly softened
- Popsicle mold and sticks
- Cooking foil ( optional)
Instructions
Pour a small amount of the root beer into each popsicle mold (equivalent of approximately 3/4 inch in the mold).
Evenly distribute the ice cream between the popsicle molds in spoonfuls.
Pour root beer into molds in small amounts allowing the foam to die back before pouring more to fill molds to the top.
Cover with lid of popsicle molds. Place an sheet of foil on top of the popsicle mold top and insert sticks (the foil keeps the sticks in place so they don't slip into the mold more than desired or float).
Freeze until fully frozen ( approximately 5 hours depending on the freezer) To remove popsicles run molds under hot water for a few seconds and remove.
Enjoy!
