Registration for Camp H.E.R.O. is now open and will close on June 1 at 4:00 p.m. Registration will continue to operate on a first-come, first-served basis. Because space is limited and there is a maximum number of campers we can accept, we encourage families to register as early as possible.
This new registration platform is designed to provide everyone with an equal opportunity to register their child or children. Once your registration has been submitted, you will receive a confirmation email verifying that it was received at a later time.
We understand that the previous registration platform had limitations that made it difficult for some families to complete registration in a timely manner. We are hopeful that this updated process will be simpler, smoother, and less stressful for everyone involved.

🛑 SCAM ALERT: FRAUDULENT COURT NOTICES
We have received reports of residents receiving "Final Notice — Court Enforcement Action" messages via text and email. These notices claim to be from the Marion County Superior Court regarding unpaid traffic violations and electronic tolls.
THIS IS A SCAM.
Please be aware of the following red flags found in this fraudulent document:
The Medium: Official court summons and final notices are typically sent via certified mail, not through a random text message or email link.
The Payment Method: Scammers often use QR codes to lead you to spoofed websites designed to steal your credit card or personal information.
Inaccuracies: Note the typos—such as "Indianapolis" being misspelled as "Indianapells."
The Pressure: They use high-pressure language like "Immediate Action Required" to scare you into acting without thinking.
Protect yourself:
DO NOT click on links or scan QR codes from unsolicited messages.
DO NOT provide Social Security numbers or financial information.

Public Safety Reminder: Golf Cart & UTV Regulations
As we see more traffic around town, the Mentone Police Department wants to ensure everyone is operating their recreational vehicles safely and legally. Please take a moment to review the following guidelines regarding Town Ordinance 25-485.
Golf Cart Registration & Requirements
Residents may register their golf carts at any time at the Clerk-Treasurer’s Office. However, before a registration sticker is issued, your golf cart must meet all standards listed in Section 2 of the ordinance, including:
Operator Requirements: Drivers must be licensed or at least 16 years and 180 days old with a valid BMV State ID.
Safety Equipment: Must have a rear-view mirror and a functional slow-moving vehicle emblem (triangular).
Night Driving: Working headlights and taillights are mandatory if operating when lights are required.
Insurance: Proof of insurance must be kept on the cart at all times.
Rules of the Road: Operators must follow all state traffic laws. Golf carts are prohibited on state highways and recreational paths/trails.
Registration Fee: $25 Annual Fee (includes inspection).
Side-by-Sides & UTVs (Rangers, Mules, etc.)
A reminder for owners of side-by-sides, Rangers, Mules, and similar UTV-style vehicles: These must be brought to the Mentone Police Department for registration before they can be operated anywhere within town limits.
Prohibited Vehicles
To maintain a peaceful community environment and ensure public safety, the following vehicles are not street legal and are prohibited from being operated on town streets:
Dirt bikes
Four-wheelers / ATVs
Mini-bikes
Similar off-road recreational vehicles
Let’s work together to keep our streets safe for everyone! If you have questions regarding inspections or specific requirements, please contact the department or visit the Clerk-Treasurer’s Office.
