The need for Blizzard Bags for seniors who receive home delivered meals this winter season has increased. Each bag will contain a 2-3 day supply of shelf stable foods. The best shelf stable foods are peanut butter, canned tuna or chicken, canned ready to eat pasta, chili, stew or pasta, protein drinks or bars, peanut butter or cheese crackers, vegetables, fruit and cereal. These items offer high in protein and nutritious value. Cans with easy-to-open pull tops are best and easy to use. Please check expiration dates. Help a senior be prepared for bad weather or other emergencies that result in loss of electricity, gas, water and prevent meals on wheels from delivering.
