Lake County Council had the opportunity to Present the Ohio PTA Memorial Scholarship to Brayden Lohrey of Mentor High School. Each lake county PTA high school that belongs to the LCC can participate in this each year and the recipient can receive $500 scholarship! Congratulations!!!

This Thursday is our last meeting of the year at 7:00 at Paradigm. We will talk about what your unit needs to do over the summer, give back Reflections entries from the state, give out State awards, and induct the new board members. This weekend, your Lake County council was represented by your secretary, Mentor High school PTSA Board Members and Kingsville Elementary PTA board members at the Ohio PTA conference in Columbus. It was a weekend of celebrating the accomplishments of our students and units along with the units all over the state. As always it is a weekend to remind us why we do what we do and the impact we have on students everywhere.
The Lake County Council's Nominating committee is looking for nominations for the 2023-2024 Executive board. Since all terms are one year, nominations will be taken for President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary. Please email Kelly at [email protected] to nominate yourself or someone else.

Important Information
Units and councils are required to upload the completed Ohio PTA Standard of Affiliation Checklist into their Member Hub compliance section by November 30th, 2023.
Several items, like your IRS 990 filing and the Ohio Charitable Registration, on the checklist, needs completed by November 15th, 2023.

Lake County Council is searching for next year’s awesome officers. We will present our slate of nominations at our March 25th meeting. At that meeting LCC will also take ‘floor’ nominations. Elections will be held at our April 22nd meeting. Official duties begin on July 1st.

Responsibilities and Duties of the Office of the President:
1. Preside at all meetings of the Lake County Council of PTAs
2. Serve as an ex-officio member of all committees except the nominating and audit committees
3. Coordinate the work of the officers and committees of this PTA in order that the purposes may be promoted
4. Have the power to disperse funds as a substitute for the Treasurer
5. Appoint an Auditing committee at least one (1) month prior to the end of the fiscal year
6. Perform duties prescribed by these By-Laws, standing rules, and by the parliamentary authority adopted by this PTA
Responsibilities and Duties of the Office of Vice President:
1. Act as an aide to the President
2. Perform the duties of the President in the President’s absence or inability to serve
3. Perform such duties as the President and the Board designate
4. Chair the Founders’ Day Dinner committee
5. Perform duties prescribed by these By-Laws, standing rules, and by the parliamentary authority adopted by this PTA
Responsibilities and Duties of the Office of Recording Secretary:
1. Keep a record of all meetings of the association, Board and Executive Committee
2. Be custodian of the permanent file
3. Have a current copy of the bylaws and standing rules
4. Maintain a membership list
5. Submit to Ohio PTA the requested list of names and addresses of unit officers or chairs
6. Submit to Ohio PTA a record of annual volunteer hours of this PTA/PTSA
Responsibilities and Duties of the Office of the Treasurer:
1. Have custody of the funds and maintain a full and accurate account of the receipts and disbursements belonging to this local PTA
2. Make disbursements as authorized by the President, board, or membership in accordance with budget adopted yearly by this local PTA
3. Submit to the Ohio PTA an annual report of the financial condition of the organization
4. Submit the books annually or upon change of officer to an audit
5. Stay up-to-date on Bonding and Insurance
6. Perform duties prescribed by these By-Laws, standing rules, and by the parliamentary authority adopted by this PTA
