It's the day every dog has waited for! The Howl-O-Ween Party for Dogs is tonight (October 13th) starting at 5:30PM at the Mentor Dog Park (6647 Hopkins Road). This FREE fun event includes a doggie costume parade, contests, prizes and fun!
Dogs must have up-to-date vaccinations, be licensed, and not be in heat, to visit the dog park. Children must be accompanied by an adult. For more information call Mentor Recreation at 440-974-5720.

Mentor CityFest will feature all-day interactive entertainment and activities including strolling performers, the “Fest Money” game, plus community sponsored activities and games. Festivalgoers can also visit with a number of local businesses, service organizations, and non-profits, that call Mentor home in the popular Main Street tent.
The Mentor CityFest Parade will kick off from Shore Middle School Saturday at 10:00 AM and make its way to the festival grounds via Hopkins, Center Street and Civic Center Boulevard. The parade will feature over 100 groups, the Mentor High School Marching Band, and our City of Mentor float.
For those trailblazers looking for a colorful thrill, register for CityFest Color Dash & Walk on Saturday night starting at 6:00 PM. This 2.5-mile run and fun walk starts & finishes at CityFest! The flat route follows the Civic Center bike path and is accessible for all ages! With seven different color zones, you are sure to be festively decorated to enjoy the rest of the Mentor CityFest activities.

CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS
Mentor CityFest, the city’s traditional end of summer celebration, is being held on the grounds of Mentor Civic Center Park on August 18 and 19, 2023.
With an estimated annual attendance of more than 25,000 people, volunteers are needed in a number of roles and locations, including main entry, ticket sales, hospitality area, information booth, and parade check-in, among others. Service groups, business organizations, families, and individuals are strongly encouraged to participate.
Volunteers will have the opportunity to experience the event from the inside out, but more importantly, work directly with city staff to help create a memorable and enjoyable experience for members of the community.
Festival hours are Friday from 5:00 PM to 11:00 PM and Saturday, from 12:00 PM to 11:00 PM.

There's still time to sign up for Marina Mondays! Spend the day getting to know various areas of the Mentor Marina, Lagoons, trails and lakeshore. Come prepared for interesting hikes, crafts, and time in or on the water. Bring a bathing suit, sunscreen, insect repellent, and a lunch with a drink. Participants should be able to swim 50 yards unassisted. Marina Mondays are July 10, 17, 31, and August 14 from 9:00am to 2:00pm.
For older kids, there are openings in our other classes in paddleboards and kayaks too.

Residents are advised that Mentor Parks & Recreation offices will be relocating from the 2nd floor of the Mentor Municipal Center to the new Mentor Community Recreation Center at 6000 Heisley Road.
Effective February 21, 2023, residents who wish to register in-person for recreation programming including summer camps, pool passes, etc. will now do so at the new location.
Please note that the Mentor Community Recreation Center is still undergoing renovations and is NOT yet open for programming or other public use. An opening date will be announced shortly.

There is less than a week until the City's Community Tree Lighting Ceremony at the Mentor Municipal Center (8500 Civic Center Boulevard) on Tuesday, December 6th at 6 PM. Join us we light up the tree and Civic Center Boulevard officially kicking off the Christmas season! Mentor Schools choirs will sing, enjoy hot chocolate and a cookie, and say hello to Santa! Bring the kids to this fun, free event. Following the tree lighting, make your way over to the Mentor Ice Arena (8600 Munson Rd.) for a Free Public Skate from 6:30 - 9 PM. Happy Holidays!

Join us for the Community Tree Lighting on Tuesday, December 6th at 6 PM. The holiday season officially begins as we light the 27-foot Norwegian spruce at the Mentor Municipal Center (8500 Civic Center Blvd.). Thousands of lights will sparkle in the night when we flip the switch to illuminate the tree and Civic Center Boulevard. The evening features choirs from the Mentor Schools and a special visitor from the North Pole! Following the tree lighting, kids will have the chance to visit with Santa while everyone enjoys a cup of hot chocolate and a cookie. The evening concludes with a FREE public skate at the Mentor Ice Arena (6:30 - 9 PM).

Please choose a tag, or tags, and purchase the gift listed. When you are finished shopping, please return the gift to the box located next to the tree no later than December 9th, 2022.
