In case you missed my candidate statement in the County Voter Guide, here it is.
Casey Steed
Advocate/ Radio Journalist
Actions. Not words.
Local politicians often talk a big game: their support for public safety, their commitment to transparency and accountability, or their lofty plans for the future. But we should base our votes on actions, not words. I’m committed to preserving public safety because I’ve worked in law enforcement for 20 years. I’ll protect the public trust, because I’ve been a local radio journalist telling you the important stories about our local governments and how to hold them accountable. And as for the future, Honest people should be committing to priorities not outcomes. I promise to do everything in my power to ensure that we enjoy the best quality of life possible. It’s time to get serious about homelessness- with a combination of mental health resources and reasonable enforcement. It’s time to clean up our parks so families can feel safe there. And most of all, our neighborhoods must be safer and cleaner than ever. I have the long history in our community and the real world experience necessary to get things done. I will bring common sense leadership to fix Merced.
For years you’ve trusted me to tell you what’s really going on in Merced. Now, I’m asking you to trust me with your vote.
