ers will serve the interests of students, not the interests of themselves. Our mission is to get students involved in the governing process of ASUCM by creating an environment that will foster the development of new campus leaders. Integrity
It is important that as elected student leaders we are upheld to the highest of moral standards. Integrity encompasses a wide set of different beliefs, but at its core is being an honest individual. Alliance strives to have honest student leaders who represent you and your ideas; officials who have strong moral principles and can make decisions that are right for their constituents. If elected, we will put in place effective means of accountability in order to ensure that integrity is upheld in ASUCM. Diversity
The candidates of Alliance are a diverse group of student leaders from every corner of UC Merced undergraduate life. From community service clubs to professional organizations, and from social fraternities to religious groups, Alliance members represent all student interests. Alliance supports a diverse group of elected officials because ASUCM needs to understand the diverse population of students that we serve.

Hey there, Bobcats! We hope you are having a fantastic semester so far! Thank you for all of your amazing support in the Spring 2014 elections. Alliance has decided to not run or endorse any candidates in the current election for ASUCM Senate. We feel the Spring election has the most significant impact and capacity for change, so we desire to focus our efforts on that election this year. As for the current election, may the best candidates win!

Bobcats and friends, thank you for your support! We are honored and humbled to see that undergraduate body of UC Merced believes in our values and our candidates. With the ASUCM Spring 2014 Elections over, we see this success as a beginning for good things to come. Alliance was created by a group of student leaders unsatisfied with the status quo that wanted to create a more responsive student government that would simply "Serve All Students". Again, thank you and we look forward to serving you in the 2014 - 2015 Academic Year.

We hope everyone had a great time this weekend with their families! We know we did. Our candidate highlight for today is Michael Briggs

My name is Michael Briggs and I am running for Senator At-Large under Alliance. The reason I am running is because I want to empower the student leaders on this campus to achieve their dreams. As a resident assistant, vice-president of a club, and prominent member of the social Greek life, I have felt that, as a student leader, I have not been empowered by ASUCM. With this leadership experience, I will work to provide the resources that our campus leaders need; I will work to put the students first and hear what you want and need from ASUCM. I will work to be the best representative I can be. I believe in you, the students of UC Merced. Will you believe in me?

Our candidate for today is David Ascencio

Hello! My name is David Ascencio; I’m a third year Management major with a Cognitive Science minor and my hometown is San Jose. I am running for Treasurer for alliance. Having been treasurer last year, I know what is expected, both time and energy wise, from this position. Under my term I was involved in all facets of ASUCM. From working with the External Vice-President and student to representing students in Washington D.C. to to serving on UC office of the president committees. This being said I know that I can reenergize ASUCM with my past experience and know how. ASUCM needs real leadership and experience in order to create an efficient and strong AS.
