⚠️ SCHEDULE UPDATE: Revised City-Wide Mosquito Spraying ⚠️

Attention Mercedes residents! To better combat the current mosquito population, we have adjusted our spraying schedule to target them when they are most active.

✅ UPDATE: Spraying for the North side (Sections 1 and 2) was successfully completed this morning.

Updated Schedule:

📍 SOUTH of Business 83 (Sections 3 and 4):

TODAY (Tuesday): Starting at 7:00 PM

THURSDAY: Starting at 3:00 AM

📍 NORTH of Business 83 (Sections 1 and 2):

THURSDAY: Starting at 7:00 PM

🛑 QUICK REMINDER ON PRECAUTIONS: During these active spraying times, please remember to:

- Keep your pets indoors.
- Close your windows and doors.
- Avoid outdoor activities while the trucks are in your area.
- Cover birdbaths, pet bowls, and small ponds.

Public Notice: Library Hours & Street Closure

Please be advised that on Friday, June 26, the Dr. Hector P. Garcia Memorial Library will have adjusted hours and will open at 12:30 PM and close at 8:30 PM.

To prepare for the Summer Reading Celebration, Ohio Avenue and the parking lot between City Hall and the Library will close by 4:00 PM for event setup.

The entire community is welcome to attend the Summer Reading Celebration. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we prepare for this community event.

Se informa que el viernes 26 de junio, la Biblioteca Conmemorativa Dr. Hector P. Garcia tendrá un horario modificado: abrirá a las 12:30 p. m. y cerrará a las 8:30 p. m.

Con motivo de los preparativos para la Celebración de Lectura de Verano, la avenida Ohio y el estacionamiento situado entre el Ayuntamiento y la biblioteca se cerrarán a las 4:00 p. m. para el montaje del evento.

🪏🥏New Outdoor Recreation Coming to Mercedes

The City of Mercedes is excited to share progress on the new 9-hole disc golf course at the Mercedes Dome.

Crews are currently installing tee boxes and baskets, with Parks Maintenance staff completing cement work and installations in-house.

Weather permitting, the course is anticipated to be completed before the end of July.

This project will provide residents and visitors with another free outdoor recreational activity to enjoy right here in Mercedes.

*******OUTDATED******🦟 PUBLIC HEALTH NOTICE: City-Wide Mosquito Spraying Schedule 🦟

Attention Mercedes residents! To help control the local mosquito population, the City will be conducting targeted mosquito spraying tomorrow and Wednesday mornings. Please check the schedule below to see when we will be in your area:

🗓️Tomorrow, Tuesday (June 23): SOUTH of Business 83
Wednesday (June 24): NORTH of Business 83

🛑 RECOMMENDED PRECAUTIONS:
While the treatment is strictly regulated for public safety, we recommend taking the following precautions during the active spraying hours:

* Keep your pets indoors.
* Close all windows and doors.
* Avoid outdoor activities (like walking or running) between 4 AM and 8 AM.
* Cover outdoor birdbaths, fish ponds, and pet water bowls.

Don't forget to do your part around the house by dumping out any standing water in buckets, tires, or flowerpots! Let's work together to keep our community safe, comfortable, and bite-free. 🦟🚫
