The National PTA Reflections Art Contest is America’s oldest and largest arts education program of its kind. It was designed to encourage students to explore their talents by creating an original piece of art relating to that year’s specific theme. Each year, students in Grades Pre-K to 12 are recognized for bringing a theme to life through six different art categories: dance choreography, film production, literature, music composition, photography and visual arts. Entries are judged by grade level.

This year submissions will be electronic and physical. Submissions are due electronically Upload submission here AND via hard copy (Visual Arts and Photography categories only) to the West Mercer Submission Box in the front entry by November 30, 2022. For questions please contact [email protected].

Walk/Bike or Roll to School
Wednesday, October 12th I 9AM Before School

Join us on Wednesday, October 12th as we walk or bike or roll to school!

Let’s move our bodies and help our planet by cruising to school on foot or on wheels! Carpools and buses are another great way to care for the environment.

If you live too far away to walk or ride, another option is to split the trip by parking a few blocks away and coming the rest of the way on foot.

We look forward to seeing the Wolf Pack there!

FALL CLEANUP SUNDAY, OCTOBER 9, 2022 at 9 A.M.!

Calling all Wolf Pack families and students to come help at The West Mercer Elementary Fall Cleanup Event! This year we will be receiving a generous donation of compost from Cedar Grove and need your help wheelbarrowing and spreading it around in the courtyard. We will also be pruning, raking and weeding the front beds by the front door of our beautiful school. Many hands make light work and we need your help to make this effort a success! The second annual Empty Bowl Fundraiser by the MIHS Art Club, with the support from the Fine Arts Advisory Council, to support MIHS PETRI is Wednesday, May 18, at the MIHS Commons. Purchase Island Books gift cards, 15% is donated to West Mercer’s PTSA!
December 1-4th

Support West Mercer PTSA by purchasing Island Books gift cards between December 1-4. 15% of the sale will benefit West Mercer PTSA! Purchase as many Island Books gift cards as you’d like (no limit!), and there is no minimum/maximum dollar amount for each gift card.

Make a list! Teachers, kids, friends, family, coworkers, babysitters, and yourself – give the gift of future shopping, while supporting your school and our beloved local book shop. Private shopping appointments are available to spend your gift cards, call Island Books to arrange a time.
