Mercer County "We Foster Care" The Resource Care Department in Mercer County is responsible for recruiting, certifying, and supporting resource families to care for and love foster kids!

Our unit is all about helping children find permanent homes! We do this through resource families. A Resource family is a combination of foster families, respite homes, and kinship homes. The main goal of our unit is to recruit resource families, certify and then support them as resource families in any way that we can! We have parent groups where all of our foster parents get together and train a

s well as have the opportunity to talk about their current placements with other resource families as well as with professionals. Childcare is provided during these meetings! We love to have events for our kids in care! We recently went on a tour of Wendell August Forge in Grove City and are soon to be having a painting party as well as an Easter Egg Hunt! We look forward to having other events with the children and resource parents as time goes on.
