Meriden Parks & Recreation Department Meriden is home to 25 accessible parks. Each park opens at sunrise and closes a dusk.

The City of Meriden Parks and Recreation Department is responsible for the maintenance and improvement of 74 municipal areas including 25 accessible parks. We are committed to providing quality recreational activities to meet the physical, mental, cultural, and social needs of our residents and visitors.

Due to today’s high winds and rain, conditions at Castle Craig/ East Peak, are hazardous. For the safety of all visitors, the access road to Castle Craig will be closed today.

We encourage everyone to use caution if visiting Hubbard Park today.

Join us on Monday, June 1st to view the full moon from Castle Craig!

The gate will remain open until 9:30 PM, and the Castle area will close at 10:00 PM.

We hope to see you there for the first full moon viewing of the season!

Fun fact: This will be a Blue Moon, which refers to the second full moon occurring in a single calendar month. The May 31st full moon is the second full moon of May, and it will still be beautifully visible on the evening of June 1st from Castle Craig.
