Everyone was asking about what happened Friday night as the community was having the summer kick off party at the Hazard Tavern we got called out to a large scale fire to help Aurelia Fire . The community got to see the fast response of the volunteers of the Meriden Fire Department.
The party had not started yet but was well over by the time we got back to town ......

Meriden responded with 10 members

We have a power outage in the Meriden Fire & Rescue area . Mid America is working to get it fixed , but it could be around mind night before they get it handled .

This don't mean we aren't ready the fire department has a generator and we have enough power here at the station to open doors and serve you promptly.

We are goin to have it in Quimby just like every year

26 teams is all we are goin to take again so sign up fast before they are all gone ....
And please if you sign up and end up not being able to play that's fine just call and let Adam or one of the members of the department know so we can go down the list and get another team added to your spot .

If you haven't made contact with a member of the Meriden Fire & Rescue for the gun raffle you may want to do it soon . We are getting very low on tickets. We will be starting the drawing June 24th and will be giving away 6 guns at that months meeting.....

So if you want a ticket hit us up soon before they are all gone and you have to wait for the next year's raffle .

Keep your eye on the weather today . If you live in Meriden and don't have a basement. The basement at the community center will be unlocked and you are welcome to go there for safety.

The City of Meriden along with the Meriden Fire Department has secured a band for the street dance this year. If you haven't seen this country rocker . You will want to see this local electric show . Dane is a local musician from right here in northwest Iowa . A native of Sgt Bluff he remembers where he is from ...... Dane has been at shows all over the U.S and has opened for many national Acts ..

Look for Dane LM to show up at a local bar , lounge, and Tavern around the nation.
Dane has traveled to Nashville on several occasions. And has recorded many songs of his own . As a singer song writer . He won't disappoint.
