In Flanders Fields
BY JOHN MCCRAE

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie,
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

NH LAW RSA 264:31 If you knowingly strike a dog or cat with your vehicle, you are required to report the incident RIGHT AWAY to the animalโ€™s owner, custodian, or local law enforcement. Leaving an injured animal behind without reporting it is not only heartbreaking, it is a violation under New Hampshire law. A few moments of compassion and accountability can mean the difference between life and death for someoneโ€™s beloved pet. Please slow down, stay alert, and if an accident happens, do the right thing STOP. CHECK. REPORT

The Plainfield Police Department is proud to raise awareness about the New Hampshire Blue Envelope Program, a voluntary initiative that helps improve communication and safety during traffic stops for drivers who may have autism spectrum disorder or trauma and stress-related disorders. Through this program, eligible drivers can obtain a distinctive blue envelope from the NH DMV (at no cost) where they may keep:

The envelope also allows them to optionally include helpful information such as:

How it works:
When a driver participating in the program is pulled over, they may present the blue envelope or have it visibly attached to their visor. It serves as a simple, visual cue to officers that the driver may communicate or respond differently and may benefit from clearer instructions or extra patience.

The program is designed to promote safer, more effective, and respectful interactions between law enforcement and drivers. The NH DMV is also working with the Police Standards and Training Council to incorporate awareness of the program into officer training. If you or a loved one might benefit from the Blue Envelope Program, contact the NH Division of Motor Vehicles or email [email protected] for more information.
