On Tuesday June 2nd the Plainfield Police Department received thank you letters from the First Baptist Church of Meriden. We were thanked for our service, and dedication for providing a safe place for them to worship and call home. We want to thank them for their kind words and recognizing us and keeping us in their thoughts and prayers.

On May 19th Estabrook Christian School requested we put our speed sign on 12a by Philip Read Memorial Library for them to conduct a math lesson. We were more than happy to oblige. They enjoyed being outside doing their math. Thank you for sharing the results of your study with us.

Peace Officers Memorial Day is a national observance held annually on May 15 in the United States to honor federal, state, and local law enforcement officers who have died or been disabled in the line of duty.

Flag Status: By federal law, U.S. flags are to be flown at half-staff from sunrise to sunset on May 15.

The names of 363 law enforcement officers were added to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington, D.C., in 2026.

2026 Memorial Details:
The newly engraved names were formally dedicated during the 38th Annual Candlelight Vigil on May 13, 2026.

Officers killed in 2025: 109

Historical additions: 254 officers who died in previous years but were recently verified.

Total names on the wall: Following these additions, the memorial now bears the names of 24,775 fallen heroes.

The Plainfield Police Department is proud to raise awareness about the New Hampshire Blue Envelope Program, a voluntary initiative that helps improve communication and safety during traffic stops for drivers who may have autism spectrum disorder or trauma and stress-related disorders. Through this program, eligible drivers can obtain a distinctive blue envelope from the NH DMV (at no cost) where they may keep:

The program is designed to promote safer, more effective, and respectful interactions between law enforcement and drivers. During EMS Week, The Plainfield Fire Department is hosting Hands-Only CPR instruction sessions.

Learn the basics of CPR in 15-minutes – it could save a life!

The NH Executive Council is sponsoring these CPR familiarity sessions with the goal to train as many people as we can in the basics of CPR.

Friday, May 22 12 - 1 at the Plainfield Fire Station, 1260 Rt 12A
Saturday, May 23 11 - 1 at the Plainfield School, 92 Bonner Road

No prior experience is needed. This is a low key, hands-on intro to CPR – for those that are new to CPR or just want to refresh their methods. . All ages are welcome to attend – bring the entire family.
