I wanted to take a moment to reshare my statement as Stephany Morales-Valentin, candidate for the Meriden Board of Education!
If we haven’t met yet or you’re wondering why I decided to run for the BOE, please take a moment to read my post — it comes from the heart.
Statement from Stephany Morales-Valentin, Candidate for Meriden Board of Education
I was asked why I’m running as both a Democrat and a Working Families Party candidate. It’s a great question — and one I’m proud to answer.
I am a proud Democrat who chose to also run with the Working Families Party because both share my core values of putting people before politics.
Together, they represent a commitment to fairness, transparency, and advocacy for working families, educators, and students — values that reflect the heart of our Meriden community.
My focus as a Board of Education candidate is to ensure that every dollar spent in our schools directly benefits our students, supports our teachers, and strengthens the relationship between families and schools. While broader financial policies are made at the city and state levels, I believe in strong collaboration, accountability, and open communication to make sure our education system remains both effective and financially responsible.
At the end of the day, my campaign is about service and community. When we invest in our children and support working families, we invest in Meriden’s future — together.
