Good evening, Bosque County! We are watching the storms as they roll in from the west. We’ll see more rain with a slight chance of localized flooding in low lying areas. More severe cells could produce strong wind and hail, but this risk is marginal. Of course, with Texas weather, risk levels are subject to change. At this time, there are no watches or warnings issued for the county.

If you encounter flooded roads, remember . Report flooded roadways to the Bosque County Sheriff’s Office at 254-435-2362.

Tune to local media or NOAA weather radio for up-to-date weather information. Emergency alerts issued by Bosque County will be sent through the HOTCOG Regional Emergency Notification System.

Good evening, Bosque County! Per our friends at the US National Weather Service Fort Worth Texas, the eastern half of Bosque County remains under an area flood advisory until 8:30 PM.

The current storms could cause some small stream flooding in the more rural areas of the county. We are actively monitoring river gauges and streamflows. If you encounter a flooded roadway, remember, . Report any flooded roadways to the Bosque County Sheriff’s Office at 254-435-2362.

Stay tuned to local media channels for up-to-date weather information, as their broadcasts are often more expedient than social media. Official emergency alerts issued by Bosque County will be distributed through the HOTCOG Regional Emergency Notification System should any need to be issued.

🌧️ Weather Update for Bosque County: Thursday 5/21/26🌧️

Our friends at the US National Weather Service Fort Worth Texas are telling us that showers and thunderstorms are expected across Bosque County throughout the day today. Some storms may bring heavy downpours, especially during the afternoon and evening hours.

Most areas could receive around ½ inch to 1 inch of rain, but a few spots may see 2 to 3 inches in a short amount of time, which could lead to isolated flash flooding in low-lying or poor drainage areas.

🇺🇸 Memorial Day Weekend Weather 🇺🇸

As we head into Memorial Day Weekend, daily chances for showers and thunderstorms will continue across Bosque County. This does NOT mean it will rain all weekend long, but scattered storms could develop each day.

A few storms could become strong, bringing gusty winds, hail, heavy rain, and dangerous lightning. There is also a low risk for localized flooding, especially in areas that receive repeated rainfall over several days.

🌧️ If you have outdoor plans, lake trips, camping, BBQs, or travel planned this weekend, make sure to keep an eye on the weather and have a way to receive warnings.

🚤 Boaters should be prepared to seek shelter quickly if storms develop.

🚧 Never drive across flooded roadways. Turn Around, Don’t Drown! It only takes a small amount of moving water to sweep a vehicle away.

Even with the rain chances, there will still be opportunities to safely enjoy the holiday weekend. Please also take time to remember and honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. ❤️🤍💙

Heads up, Cranfills Gap! There is an underlying hail core in the storm that is headed your way. Potential for 60 mph wind gusts and quarter-sized hail. Take cover and avoid being outdoors.

⚠️ Weather Update for Eastern Bosque County 5/19/26 4:50pm ⚠️

A strong thunderstorm is currently moving very slowly through eastern Bosque County and could impact the area through around 5:30 PM.

Communities that may be affected include Meridian, Clifton, Womack, Morgan, Kopperl, Cayote, Norse, Cedar Shores, Lakewood Harbor, and Lakeside Village.
The main concerns with this storm are:
🌬 Wind gusts up to 50 mph
🧊 Penny-sized hail
🌳 Possible downed tree limbs and loose outdoor items being blown around

If you are in the area, stay weather aware and move indoors if the storm approaches your location.

A line of storms is continuing to move south through North and Central Texas this afternoon and evening. While the overall severe weather threat is lower than earlier forecasts, a few storms could still produce strong wind gusts and hail.

From our friends at the US National Weather Service Fort Worth Texas

⛈️ Showers and thunderstorms are expected to move into our area today along a cold front. A few storms could become severe and may produce large hail and damaging winds, especially later this afternoon and evening. Storms should move out by late tonight, bringing a quieter overnight period. Please stay weather aware and make sure you have a way to receive warnings if conditions change.

🌧️ Rain chances will continue daily from Wednesday through the weekend, and many areas across North and Central Texas could receive at least 1 inch of rain between Wednesday and Friday. While the exact rainfall totals are still being refined, isolated flooding could become possible, especially in low-lying and flood-prone areas.

As always, our friends at the National Weather Service Fort Worth will continue monitoring conditions closely, and we will keep Bosque County updated as new information becomes available.
Stay safe and remember Texas weather likes to keep us guessing. 🌦️

I just want to say great job to the Valley Mills Vol FD, Clifton Texas VFD, Speegleville Vfd, China Spring Volunteer Fire Department, and Crawford VFD. 🔥 Today’s grass fires are a great reminder of just how quickly conditions can change in Bosque County, especially with winds like we are seeing today. Thankfully, crews were able to stop the fires from spreading beyond the ditches before they became something much worse.
With these dry and windy conditions, it would not have taken much for this to turn into a major wildfire event. We are incredibly thankful for the quick actions of our volunteer fire departments and first responders who worked hard to keep the situation under control.
Please continue to avoid activities that could spark a fire, secure trailer chains, and use extra caution outdoors while these windy conditions continue. Thank you to everyone who helped respond and keep our communities safe today. 🚒🔥
