Lauderdale County Soil and Water Conservation District Lauderdale County Soil and Water Conservation District The Lauderdale County Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) is governed by five commissioners.

Three are elected and two are appointed by the Mississippi Soil and Water Conservation Commission upon recommendations of the SWCD board of commissioners. These commissioners serve without pay to develop partnerships with local and state agencies, as well as local landowners to carry out cooperative programs that address natural resource concerns in the district.
