Protecting the warfighter, one ear at a time.

More than 1,000 personnel assigned to the Chief of Naval Air Training are one step closer to receiving custom-fit hearing protection through a new digital ear-scanning initiative coordinated by CNATRA Aerospace Medical Safety Officers, Commander, Naval Air Forces and PMA-202.

The initiative uses 3D digital scanning technology to create precise models of each aircrew member’s ear, allowing manufacturers to produce custom-fit hearing protection designed to improve both hearing protection and in-flight communications.

Hearing conservation is readiness. And readiness starts in training.
