This is the first in a series of posts regarding the total solar eclipse, which will occur on Monday, April 8, 2024. We will post specifics regarding the actual eclipse event and preparations in Bosque County and our municipalities in future posts.

WHAT DOES THE ECLIPSE MEAN FOR BOSQUE COUNTY?

• We expect thousands of visitors to Bosque County. Possibly 10’s of thousands!

• Traffic could be a real mess especially as the eclipse ends and everyone tries to leave at once

• Cell phone and internet services could be really slow due to the number of users

• Restaurants, gas stations, and everything in between will be super busy and may run out of products

• If you plan to rent space on your property for tent camping, RV’s, or just eclipse watching, you might consider consulting an attorney regarding liability issues

More details to come in future posts so stay tuned!

Copied from Bosque County Emergency Management page:

Evening, Bosque County,

Just a quick update to let everyone know that the Bosque County Office of Emergency Management (OEM) is still working the flood event that occured over the past several days.

The OEM is now transitioning from supporting responders, requesting and coordinating outside emergency resources, networking with the National Weather Service, and numerous other behind the scenes activities to preparing to complete damage assessments on infrastructure as well as real propertiy.

More information will be available beginning tomorrow on this site as well as on the County Website.

Please be patient as we continue working this event.

Thank you…

The Bosque has left its banks within the city limits of Clifton, and the waters continue to rise. Riverside Drive is closed at SH 6 and CR 3112. DO NOT DRIVE AROUND BARRICADES. We have already had one swift water rescue in Clifton and several others throughout the county. Be safe and turn around.
