🌦️ With more rain heading our way this weekend, we might get to see our little seasonal waterfall come to life again! 🌿

🏕️ If you’re planning to camp or hike over the next few days, keep an eye on the weather and be prepared for muddy trails, slick spots, and changing conditions around the lake. A little preparation goes a long way in having a great experience at Meridian State Park, no matter the weather.

✨ If you’re out enjoying the park today, take a moment to listen to the water moving through the area. Rainy days can bring out some of the park’s best hidden sights!

🌿 It’s City Nature Challenge weekend! 🌿

From April 24 - 27 , we’re joining cities across the globe to see how many plants, insects, fungi, birds, and critters we can find right here in the Heart of Texas region.

The best part? You don't have to be an expert! The iNaturalist app and it's online community help ID what you photograph, all you have to do is head outside, snap photos of anything wild you see, and upload them to the app.

It’s the perfect excuse to explore the park, take a walk around your neighborhood, or even wander through your own backyard!

🌼 Bluebonnet season is wrapping up, but they’re not done yet! 💙

🌱 Our bluebonnets are starting to go to seed, which means the blooms are fading as they drop seeds for next year’s flowers. It’s nature’s way of making sure we get another beautiful show next spring.

📸 If you stopped by to enjoy our wildflowers this year, we’d love to see your favorite photos. Share them in the comments below!

🐿️💚 It's giving sibling energy, but squirrel edition 💚🐿️

For young squirrels, these playful moments aren’t just fun. They’re practicing balance, building coordination, and learning the skills they’ll need to survive on their own.

Before long, they’ll branch out (literally), but for now it’s all about sticking together and enjoying life in the treetops. 🌳✨

🐣🌼 Happy Easter Weekend from Meridian State Park! 🌼🐣

We’re excited to see everyone enjoying the park this holiday weekend. Before you head out, here are a few quick reminders to help us keep Meridian beautiful for wildlife and visitors alike:

🥚 No confetti eggs (cascarones)
The small pieces of paper and plastic left behind can be mistaken for food by wildlife and are difficult to clean up. Help us protect the park by leaving confetti at home.

🌿 Leave No Trace
Pack out what you pack in and help us keep the trails, picnic areas, and shoreline clean for everyone.

We hope you have a fun, safe, and egg-cellent Easter weekend enjoying the outdoors with family and friends! 💚🐰
