🇺🇸 Our flag is flying again! 🇺🇸

Recently, the rope on our flagpole broke, leaving us with one small problem — we didn’t have the equipment needed to reach the top of the pole to make the repair.
Thankfully, Superior Lawn & Tree stepped up to help! They brought out their equipment, got us to the top of the flagpole, and helped get everything back in working order.
A huge THANK YOU to them for taking the time to help us out. We truly appreciate the support!

🔥 BOSQUE COUNTY BURN BAN IN EFFECT 🔥
As of 8/17/2026 @ 9:22am for 90days from this date and time issuance.
The Bosque County Commissioners Court has placed Bosque County under a Burn Ban due to the continued hot, dry conditions and increased fire danger.
🚫 Outdoor burning is prohibited in the unincorporated areas of Bosque County.
DO NOT BURN:
🔥 Brush or brush piles
🔥 Leaves, grass, or yard debris
🔥 Trash or household waste
🔥 Other outdoor debris or combustible material
⚠️ PLEASE USE EXTREME CAUTION
Even activities that are not specifically prohibited by the burn ban can start a wildfire under our current conditions. Please:
• Secure trailer chains and wires so they do not drag and create sparks.
• Properly dispose of ci******es — never throw them out of a vehicle window.
• Use extra caution when welding, grinding, mowing dry grass, or operating equipment that could create sparks.
Our vegetation is extremely dry, and with temperatures exceeding 100°F, it does not take much for a small spark to become a rapidly spreading fire.
🚒 Please remember that the majority of our firefighters in Bosque County are VOLUNTEERS. Every preventable fire puts these men and women, our residents, livestock, homes, and property at unnecessary risk.
Please help us protect Bosque County. One spark is all it takes. ❤️

🚌📚 SCHOOL IS BACK IN SESSION! 📚🚌

Bosque County area schools are welcoming students back this week! That means our school zones will be active, buses will be back on the roads, and students will once again be walking and waiting near roadways.

Please give yourself a few extra minutes in the mornings and afternoons, slow down in school zones, put the distractions away, and keep an extra eye out for our kids. ❤️
🚨 REMEMBER TEXAS SCHOOL BUS LAW: When a school bus is stopped with its red lights flashing and stop arm extended, you MUST STOP.
🛑 Two-lane road: Traffic in BOTH directions stops.
🛑 Multi-lane road with no physical divider: Traffic in BOTH directions stops.
🛑 Center/turn lane only: Traffic in BOTH directions still stops.
🛑 Roadway separated by a median, intervening space, or physical barrier: Traffic traveling behind the bus must stop; traffic on the separate roadway going the opposite direction is not required to stop.

Drivers must remain stopped until the bus begins moving, the flashing signal is turned off, or the bus driver signals that it is safe to proceed.

⚠️ Under Texas Transportation Code § 545.066, illegally passing a stopped school bus can result in a $500–$1,250 fine for a first offense.

A few extra seconds of patience can prevent a tragedy.

Slow down. Pay attention. Watch for buses. Watch for kids. Let’s work together to make sure every Bosque County student gets to school and back home safely. 💛🚌

Thanks to a quick 911 call and response time, crews were able to extinguish this lawnmower fire this evening before it spread to any structures or farther into the surrounding grass . We’d much rather get called away from the dinner table for a small fire than spend all night fighting a large one that started small!

🚨 Water Update! 🚨
Y’all understood the assignment! 😄

Our firefighters are officially floating at this point, so please hit the pause button on bottled water donations. We are completely stocked up and not accepting any more at this time.
Thank you for the overwhelming support. We’re incredibly grateful to live in such an amazing community!

Yesterday, in addition to assisting our neighboring Fire Departments with fires in their districts, MVFD responded to a large hay fire 2 miles south of Meridian that continued burning throughout the night. Our firefighters remained on scene overnight, and crews are still working the fire this morning.

A huge thank you to Clifton Texas VFD and Iredell Volunteer Fire Department that responded to provide mutual aid and 67 Towing & Services LLC for their heavy equipment.

A special thank you also goes to Freedom Simple Simon's Pizza for generously donating pizza to help keep our firefighters fueled during the long hours.

Please be aware that this fire may continue to burn for the next few days. If you see smoke in the area, it is from the ongoing incident and crews will continue to monitor and work the fire as needed.
