Comprised of 100% volunteer memebrs MIVFD supports all Brevard agencies in fire suppresion, emergency medical services and special response services. MIVFD is a volunteer department, stationed at Brevard County Fire Rescue (BCFR) Station 41. Our station is manned with career personnel 24 hour a day 7 days a week. We provide additional resources and manpower to BCFR as a secondary response unit. Fo

On May 3rd Merritt Island Volunteer Fire Department participated in a Vehicle Extrication demo for the Back Brevard Hero’s Hero Fest. MIVFD would like to congratulate our own Lt. Don Flammio for receiving Volunteer Firefighter of the Year award and our own Division Chief Matthew Stebbins for receiving a Life Saving Award at the Brevard County Fire Rescue awards ceremony last night.
