This Memorial Day, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our nation. 🇺🇸

Their sacrifice secured the freedoms we enjoy today and their legacy lives on through the families, communities, and fellow service members who continue to remember them.

As we gather with loved ones this weekend, let us take a moment to reflect on the true meaning of Memorial Day and give thanks to those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

We remember. We honor. We will never forget. ❤️🤍💙

Operation Overlord — Remembering D-Day

On June 6, 1944, nearly 160,000 Allied troops stormed the beaches of Normandy in one of history’s most significant military operations. Omaha Beach saw some of the fiercest fighting, where brave soldiers faced relentless enemy fire in the fight for freedom.

Decades later, scientists studying the sands of Omaha Beach discovered tiny magnetic shrapnel fragments still mixed among the grains — lasting reminders of the sacrifice and courage displayed there.

Visit our museum to see our historic D-Day flag, worn and weathered with time, yet proudly preserved in honor of those who served. While you’re here, explore our exhibits and stop by the gift shop for America 250th anniversary items.

This Memorial Day, we remember and thank our veterans for their service and sacrifice. ❤️🤍💙

Volunteers at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery honored 796 Vietnam veterans laid to rest there in 2025 by reading each of their names aloud during a special remembrance ceremony on March 27. 🇺🇸

The tradition, held in recognition of the 50th Anniversary of the Fall of Saigon, continues to ensure these veterans are never forgotten. More than 8,000 Vietnam-era veterans and spouses are now buried at CCNC, making ceremonies like this especially meaningful for families, friends, and the community.

Thank you to the dedicated volunteers who helped provide these heroes a final welcome home. ❤️🤍💙
