Operation Overlord — Remembering D-Day
On June 6, 1944, nearly 160,000 Allied troops stormed the beaches of Normandy in one of history’s most significant military operations. Omaha Beach saw some of the fiercest fighting, where brave soldiers faced relentless enemy fire in the fight for freedom.
Decades later, scientists studying the sands of Omaha Beach discovered tiny magnetic shrapnel fragments still mixed among the grains — lasting reminders of the sacrifice and courage displayed there.
Visit our museum to see our historic D-Day flag, worn and weathered with time, yet proudly preserved in honor of those who served. While you’re here, explore our exhibits and stop by the gift shop for America 250th anniversary items.
This Memorial Day, we remember and thank our veterans for their service and sacrifice. ❤️🤍💙
