Field Manor

Field Manor A National Register Property, living history museum, acres of homestead land, and an outdoor venue. It was the first house to be built on Merritt Island.

The land for Field Manor was homesteaded beginning in 1867, and the house began construction in 1880. We now have 45 acres of working citrus grove, and sit on about 320 ft of riverfront shoreline. We have cultivated a variety of fruits as well as bees and oysters. The house became a Museum in 2013, when the last living Field descendant established Field Manor Foundation as part of her estate. We are now open for historic tours, educational programs, and are a venue for weddings and other events!

On this day in 1944, Betty Lou Field (1926-1995) married Horace David 'Hutch' Hutchison (1926-1990) in Indianola, Florida. They went on to own and run a 800 acre cattle ranch in Arcadia, Florida.
