Longswamp Township

Longswamp Township Incorporated in May of 1761, Longswamp Township is a local Government Municipality located in Berks County, Pennsylvania.

Longswamp is a rural community that sprawls over 22.7 square miles and has a population of 5,587 (2022 US Census). Longswamp Township is home to 2 parks, Township Community Park which boasts a large playground, baseball fields, and a hockey rink, and Hunsickers Grove which boasts a large pavilion with a kitchen, a sand volleyball court and a pond for fishing. Each park has 2 pavilions that can be

rented out through the Township office. Longswamp is also home to numerous Park and Recreation events throughout the year such as Swampfest and Christmas in July. You can also find lots to do at Bear Creek Mountain Resort such as skiing and snowboarding. There are a few creeks that run through Longswamp known as the LIttle Lehigh, Swabia, and Sacony. Longswamp Township includes the villages of Farmington, Hancock, Henningsville, Longsdale, Longswamp, Maple Grove, Mertztown, New Hensingersville, Red Lion, Rittenhouse Gap, and Siesholtsville. Longswamp Township surrounds the Borough of Topton, and is neighbors to Upper Macungie Township, Lower Macungie Township, Alburtis Borough, Hereford Township, District Township, Rockland Township and Maxatawny Township.
