MPS CTE students were invited to “Play Attention” at ReMix The Future 2026. These high schoolers developed an extended (virtual) reality game along with a two-minute video pitching the game, with gameplay footage. The Dreamscape Learn team mentored and supported the students throughout the process. Each member of the winning team will be awarded a $100 gift card at the conclusion of Sunday’s showcase. We invite you to come to the MIX Center on Oct. 18 from 2:30-4 p.m. to see our students work in action!

On November 3, 2026, Mesa voters will consider Proposition 419, a bond election that would fund improvements at schools across Mesa Public Schools.

If approved, a portion of the funds would be designated for Mendoza Elementary School for proposed campus improvements, including:
$2.6 million - HVAC
$1 million - Secure Front Lobby
$673,000 - New Furniture
$250,000 - Fire Protection
$244,000 - Weatherization

Based on current projections, the bond tax rate is expected to remain the same and or decrease from the current rate of $0.9530 per $100 of assessed value and remain below today's rate throughout the planned bond program. The estimated cost to taxpayers for this bond is $0.81 per $100 of net assessed value. $1 million - Secure Front Lobby
$306,000 - Flooring Replacement
$300,000 - Fire Protection

Red Mountain's Matthew Erickson was awarded the Kyle Lawson Outstanding Contribution Award from the ariZoni Theatre Awards of Excellence for his work on MPS Adaptive Theater.

This summer, the MPS Adaptive Theater Company put on a rousing production of Honk! Jr., and during the award ceremony, performed the song "Poultry Tale."
