It’s a multinational training exercise where U.S. and NATO Special Operations teams test their limits in the Arctic.

❓What’s the Air Force Special Operations Wing’s role?
AFSOW Airmen bring the airpower, from CV-22 Ospreys to MC-130 Commandos, inserting and recovering special operations teams, resupplying ground forces and proving that we can operate anywhere, anytime.

Some heroes fly airplanes. Others work with some of the toughest military dogs around.

Meet SSgt Kanejoshua Smoot, a military working dog trainer with the 35th Security Forces Squadron, and his trusty MWD, Clinton. 🐾

Military working dog handlers are tasked with explosives detection, psychological deterrence and presidential security both downrange and at home. Their expertise extends beyond the walls of our bases, requiring them to stay calm under pressure and committed to service.

SSgt Smoot and Clinton train endlessly to protect lives, detect threats and keep the mission safe every single day. It’s everyday heroes like these two that embody what it means to serve. 👏
