RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM MDT THIS EVENING FOR GUSTY WINDS, LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY AND DRY FUELS.

The National Weather Service in Grand Junction has issued a Red Flag Warning for gusty winds, low relative humidity and dry fuels, which is in effect until 8 PM MDT this evening. A Red Flag Warning has also been issued from noon to 8 PM MDT Saturday.

* TIMING For the first Red Flag Warning, until 8 PM MDT this evening. For the second Red Flag Warning, from noon to 8 PM MDT Saturday.

* WINDS...Southwest 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.

* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...8 to 13 percent.

* IMPACTS...Fires will catch and spread quickly. Exercise extreme caution.

About Us: The Plateau Valley Fire Protection District is a combination department that responds to approximately 400โ€“450 calls for service each year. Our service area covers 797 square miles. The district provides Advanced Life Support (ALS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) services, along with structure fire and wildland fire response.

RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM NOON TO 8 PM MDT TODAY FOR GUSTY WINDS, LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY AND DRY FUELS.

The National Weather Service in Grand Junction has issued a Red Flag Warning for gusty winds, low relative humidity and dry fuels, which is in effect from noon to 8 PM MDT Friday.

WINDS: Southwest 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.

RELATIVE HUMIDITY: 13 to 18 percent.

IMPACTS: Fires will catch and spread quickly.

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.

FIRE WEATHER WATCH IN EFFECT FROM MONDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH
MONDAY EVENING FOR GUSTY WINDS, LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY AND DRY FUELS.

WINDS Southwest 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 45 mph.

RELATIVE HUMIDITY 11 to 16 percent.

IMPACTS Fires will catch and spread quickly.
