We will be CLOSED tomorrow (Wednesday, May 27th) so our director can attend a training in Grimes! We are sorry for the inconvenience. Continuing education is super important - it helps our staff stay certified and our library remain accredited!

In the meantime, check out these incredible giant candies that Sam created! We can’t wait to show you more this summer!!

We can’t believe it, but well over half of our Amazon wishlist for summer reading program has been purchased, including ALL the books and the candy machine! You guys are amazing!!! If anyone is still interested in donating, we have some great craft supplies and prizes for our summer programs still left on the list. We give out a prize to every child in attendance at each event throughout the summer, and the kids can earn more prizes by completing their bingo sheets. There’s also some juice boxes still on the list (though we would take any kind of juice)! We are SO excited to kick off our “Reading is Sweet” summer program!!

It’s that time of year again when we look to our community to give us a helping hand with this year’s summer reading program! Our theme this year is “Reading is Sweet” and it’s all about candy and all things sweet! We have lots of fun things planned, including a candy science event, a cookie decorating class with Healthy Harvest, and a partnership with Lime Creek to put on a honey-themed program.

This list includes prizes for the kids so everyone gets a small prize at each event (plus more prizes when they complete their summer Bingo sheets), extra craft activities, some snacks that go with the theme, some themed pretend play toys that will be used in our library for years to come, and of course, lots of books! There is also one large item on the list - a prize/candy machine that will be used not only for this summer’s fun, but for sooo many other passive programs (like putting slips of paper in to tell fortunes, what book you should read next, incentives for kids for being awesome helpers, and the list goes on)! We would SO appreciate any donations to support our library. We are so thankful for all of our wonderful patrons!! 💕 📖
