Meshoppen Fire Company Proudly providing Fire, Rescue & E.M.S. services to the communities in which we live, work and play! (downed firefighter rescue).

The Meshoppen Fire Company is composed of approximately 50 active and social volunteer members, 10 part time paid E.M.T.'s and 4 full time paid E.M.T.'s. Approximately 35 of the volunteer members are active fire, rescue, and E.M.S. personnel who are dedicated to serving the communities in which we live and work. The Meshoppen Fire Department provides emergency medical services to Meshoppen Borough

and Township, Auburn Twp, Braintrim Twp, Laceyville Boro, Washington Twp, Tuscarora Twp and parts of Windham Twp. We provide fire and rescue services to Meshoppen Borough and Twp, Washington Twp, and parts of Auburn Twp. Our volunteers are highly trained and certified in many areas of expertise which include, but are not limited to, fire suppression, vehicle rescue, rope rescue, rural search and rescue, swift water rescue, heavy rescue, hazardous materials operations, and R.I.T. We are also licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Health/Bureau of E.M.S. to provide Basic Life Support ambulance services. Due to our vast array of expertise and state of the art equipment, it is not uncommon for Station 2 to be requested for assistance in the furthest reaches of Wyoming County and even into neighboring counties. It's that time of the year and the Wyoming County Fair is approaching fast! We have roughly 250 volunteer spots to fill for the entire week at our stand. This is one of the many fundraisers we do throughout the year and due to volunteer constraints we ask for the community's help running our food stand! Please consider donating some time to give us a hand!

If you, your organization, or group would like to volunteer the fair begins Sept 2nd and runs until Sept 7th. Shifts are Wed/Thurs 1:30 to 5:30 and 5:00 to 9:00. Fri/Sat/Sun 10:00 to 2:30, 2:00 to 6:30, and 6:00 to 10:00. Mon 10:00 to 2:00 and 2:00 to 6:00. We'll cover your admission for the day if you volunteer for any of those shifts or any other 4hr block that works for your schedule! The ladder arrived with a slight smoke condition on the second floor and quickly handled the situation. Tower 7 also assisted on scene.

Our thoughts are with Bruces family during this difficult time.

Bruce was a strong supporter of the fire company and served as treasurer for nearly 20 years. Bruce was instrumental in planning of many large projects over the years that got us where we are today.

Monday night just before midnight the Ladder, Tanker, Squad & Ambulance 2-9 with a crew of 12 assisted Station 7 on a commercial style garage fire in Tunkhannock Township.

Last evening Ladder 140 and Tanker 140 responded to this garage fire in Lemon Twp. Additional crews also stayed back and staffed the 2 Stations for additional calls.
