Friends:

The attached PDF will spell out the current plans to transition the ownership of the park from the Parks department over to the Game and Fish department. This information was provided at Saturday's Open House and Friends meeting.

If you have comments for either department please use the two emails listed on the bottom.

The Friends organization is currently reviewing next steps based on this proposed transition. We have formed a "transition committee" to investigate and propose recommendations for the Friends. Please feel free to send any questions or suggestions to the Friends email.

Effective Tuesday, July 26, the Mesilla Valley Bosque State Park will be CLOSED on Tuesdays and Wednesdays until further notice, because of personnel constraints due to budge cuts. We regret this and hope that our normal schedule will be restored as soon as possible. The new opening hours for the Park will be Thursday through Monday, 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

With saddened heart's, the staff and friends of the park said goodbye to our long term volunteer and dear friend Mr. Guy Powers. Guy passed away this past week after suffering a stroke. Guys quick smile and laughter will be sorely missed! RIP our Friend!!
