Congratulations are in order for our Fire Chief, Gregory Whited!
He has officially been elected to the Board of Directors for the IAAI, the International Association of Arson Investigators.

The New Mexico Chapter of the International Association of Arson Investigators (NMIAAI) proudly congratulates Director Greg Whited on his election to the IAAI Board of Directors.
With 33 years in the fire service, including 24 years as a fire investigator and 22 years as an instructor, Greg brings a depth of knowledge and experience that reflects true dedication to the profession. His background spans both public and private sectors, including service as a private fire investigator, accelerant detection canine handler, and certified law enforcement officer.
Greg has demonstrated a strong and ongoing dedication to NMIAAI, serving in multiple leadership roles within the New Mexico Chapter, including Past 1st Vice President, Current 2nd Vice President, and Past Board Chair of Training and Education since 2015. His work has helped expand training opportunities, strengthen chapter engagement, and support the growth of fire investigators across our state.
He has long been committed to advancing the fire investigation community through accessible training, mentorship, and leadership grounded in integrity and transparency. His continued service to IAAI at both the chapter and national levels—including contributions to training, awards, and strategic planning—demonstrates his passion for leaving the profession better than he found it.
We are proud to have Greg representing New Mexico at the national level, and we look forward to the impact he will continue to make across the fire investigation community.
