The Southern Nevada Health District has announced that Curative will be closing its testing site in Mesquite effective September 1st.

Curative is no longer able to sustain its operations due to low PCR testing volume over the past few months. SNHD, however, will continue to maintain our Covid -19 vending machine located in the Mesa View Hospital allowing Mesquite residents access to Covid-19 antigen test kits 24 hours, 7 days a week.
Residents can register at snhd.info/testkit online prior to their arrival OR at the site of the machine by simply scanning the QR code that will link to the registration page. Every individual can access up to 5 at-home kits per month. SNHD will continue to monitor the demand and need for Covid-19 testing in Mesquite and will work to expand testing again should the need arise.

This is important information.

The Nevada Child Care Fund is available to all qualifying Nevadans, including State employees. Eligibility for child care financial support has expanded!

In July, Governor Steve Sisolak officially launched the Nevada Child Care Fund to expand access and affordability of quality child care across the state.

Funds approved for the program by the Legislative Interim Finance Committee will be used to lower the amount paid out of pocket for eligible families, as well as expand the income eligibility threshold for the child care assistance program.

Peter Jankowski was sworn in as Mesquite's City Manager on Monday.

Peter has had 23+ years of municipal experience as a Town Manager, Town Administrator, Counselor, Deputy Director, Treasurer, Planning Board, Finance Committee Member, County and Budget Committee, Trustee, and State Representative.

He has received a Doctorate of Law a Bachelor's Degree in Resource Economics/Political Science. He is a licensed attorney with a vast knowledge of municipal administrative law and collective bargaining negotiations.

Please welcome him to our wonderful city.
