We will be sorting our new to Smith and all Kindergarten students on Friday, September 4. If your child is new to Smith or in Kindergarten, please have them wear black or white. They will be "sorted" into one of our four houses. Moving forward, they will wear their house color on house celebration days.

For our returning Smith students who have already been sorted into their houses, please have them wear their house colors and spirit gear on Friday to show support for their new house members.

Our Pre K students will not be sorted this year, but will join the house of either their teacher or the classroom aide (Briscoe/Pyle - red & blue, Almanza/Solis - yellow & green). They will receive their own house color when they get to Kindergarten.

Little Readers is offered on Mesquite ISD elementary campuses and is designed for families with children under 5. These groups offer fun, interactive stories, activities, and a free book at every session.

Pay your child’s device insurance fee by Friday, September 4. This coverage helps protect your family from unexpected costs if your student’s district-issued device is accidentally damaged. If the fee is not paid by the deadline, the family will be responsible for 100% of repair or replacement costs, even for the first incident.

⏰ Deadline approaching! Don’t forget to pay your student’s annual $20 device insurance fee for their district-issued Chromebook or iPad by Sept. 4.

Families with multiple students will pay no more than $60 total.
