Metairie Academy for Advanced Studies Our mission is to help our children grow to become well rounded responsible citizens.

The Jefferson Parish Public Schools Advanced Study Academies (ASAs) are designed to expose the most highly capable students to a challenging, rigorous, and accelerated curriculum. The academies focus on high-potential students who are successful in gaining admission through the ASA admissions process. Successful candidates are challenged with opportunities in abstract thinking, problem solving, an

d the use of higher order thinking skills. Our academies employ a school-wide enrichment model and use project-based, hands-on instructional techniques. Students are highly engaged through differentiated instruction and are working at least one grade level ahead of other students in their age group and grade placement.

As we close out the 2025–2026 school year, Miss Leslie spent a little time with Mrs. Keiser’s fifth grade students reflecting on what they’ll miss the most. GW said it best—he’ll miss all the amazing things our school has done for him. As they head off to middle school, I hope they realize just how many amazing things they’ve done for us, too. They’ve left their mark on our school in ways that won’t be forgotten. Once a Mustang, always a Mustang!

A few parents have reached out regarding the 2025–2026 yearbook, and we’re excited to share that sales are now open! Orders will be accepted through the end of July.

Yearbooks will be delivered to the school at the beginning of the upcoming school year. For our 5th grade families, yearbooks will be available for pickup in the front office once they arrive.

Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions—we’re looking forward to sharing these special memories with you!

Teacher Appreciation Round-Up! 🍎✨
What an incredible week celebrating our amazing teachers and staff!

We kicked things off with Student Takeover Day, followed by a cozy Coffee Bar to keep everyone energized. Our hearts were full during the Senior Walkthrough, watching former students come back and inspire the next generation. 🎓

The week continued with Sights and Sounds, Moving On Up, a delicious Taco Tuesday, and wrapped up with a heartfelt Thankful Thursday.

Every moment was a reminder of the impact our educators make each and every day. Thank you for a fantastic year and for all that you do for our students! 💫

🎉Congratulations to Christine Tseng of Haynes Academy for Advanced Studies for being selected as a U.S. Presidential Scholars Program Semifinalist!

The United States Presidential Scholars Program was established in 1964 by Executive Order of the President to recognize and honor some of our nation’s most distinguished graduating high school seniors. Each year, up to 161 students who demonstrate outstanding ability and accomplishment are named U.S. Presidential Scholars, one of the nation’s highest honors for high school students.
