Metairie Academy for Advanced Studies Our mission is to help our children grow to become well rounded responsible citizens.

The Jefferson Parish Public Schools Advanced Study Academies (ASAs) are designed to expose the most highly capable students to a challenging, rigorous, and accelerated curriculum. The academies focus on high-potential students who are successful in gaining admission through the ASA admissions process. Successful candidates are challenged with opportunities in abstract thinking, problem solving, an

d the use of higher order thinking skills. Our academies employ a school-wide enrichment model and use project-based, hands-on instructional techniques. Students are highly engaged through differentiated instruction and are working at least one grade level ahead of other students in their age group and grade placement.

🎉Congratulations to third graders Henry Liang and Katherine Jiang of Metairie Academy for Advanced Studies for being selected as National Math Stars, joining a 2026 cohort of just over 600 students from across the country.

Henry earned the Pathfinder Star and Katherine earned Voyager Star.

Each Star was chosen after a multi-stage evaluation of mathematical aptitude and eagerness to go deeper in STEM. Over the next ten years, through high school graduation, each student will receive mentorship, funding for advanced math courses, STEM enrichment materials, and invitations to math competitions and summer camps.

🌟 Big news from Metairie Academy for Advanced Studies

2 of our students have been selected as National Math Stars, joining a 2026 cohort of just over 600 students from across the country.

Congratulations to:

⭐ Katherine Jiang, 3rd Grade
⭐ Henry Liang, 3rd Grade

Each Star was chosen after a multi-stage evaluation of mathematical aptitude and eagerness to go deeper in STEM. Over the next ten years — through high school graduation — each will receive mentorship, funding for advanced math courses, STEM enrichment materials, and invitations to math competitions and summer camps.

They are both so excited to have been chosen for this amazing program.

If your child rides the bus and you haven’t already done so, we want to remind you to download and use our bus tracking apps. You can determine which app you need for your child by checking the bus number.

🚌My Ride = The parent App for JP Schools Buses numbered 0-599 only.
This app will allow parents to track their children when they scan on the bus and off the bus.

First View/Parent View = The parent App for First Student buses numbered
600 and above.

Both apps can be downloaded from the Apple and Google Play stores.
