This week is National EMS Week, a week set aside to honor the dedication and professionalism of our Emergency Medical Service Professionals.

Our EMS professionals at MAVFD possess a passion for what they do; a strong dedication to Amboy Township, and Village of Metamora residents and guests; and deliver compassionate and skilled care every day. We are beyond grateful for each one of them and are honored to serve alongside each other as we serve this community when needed.

Last Thursday, we had the privilege of presenting and surprising an outstanding Evergreen Senior with a $1000 scholarship. Bailey successfully navigated a rigorous interview with multiple department members, submitted a well-crafted essay, secured two exceptional letters of recommendation, and provided a comprehensive application and her transcript.
Congratulations to Bailey Lumbrezer and the class of 2026!

We are deeply appreciative of Creque’s Greenhouse and Produce Stand’s generous donation to our garden. Our garden has been planted and is ready to grow, featuring a variety of produce including raspberries, strawberries, blackberries, cucumbers, tomatoes, peppers, onions, mint and more!

Thank you so much for welcoming Chief Geer to storytime. Together, we explored the letter F, learned about fire safety, and had fun. We truly enjoyed the experience. They all look great in their fire helmets!

ATTENTION: Co Rd 2 (Parker Ln), North of 120 is closed due to multiple poles and power lines down across roadway. Toledo Edison has been notified and Road Closure signs will soon be in place. There is access to Wildflower Dr.

The Monroe Street interchange reconstruction is moving into its second and final construction season.

Monroe Street over US 23 will close **Sunday, March 8 at 9 p.m.** and remain closed for approximately **150 days**.
