⏰6:30 – 8:30 p.m.
👻Walking tours will begin at the Evergreen Community Library and will follow a route throughout Metamora. The hour-long tours will take off every 15 minutes, starting at 6:30 p.m.
🎃Each tour makes seven stops along the way, but the walk is filled with even more history, hauntings, and great stories from the past.

𝐅𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐂𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐧-𝐔𝐩 𝐨𝐧 𝐎𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟏𝟎𝐭𝐡 𝐡𝐚𝐬 𝐓𝐰𝐨 𝐎𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬:

𝐎𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 #𝟏 - If you are elderly or disabled, the village and chamber have arranged for assistance to help with minor yard work & garden clean up. For example: trimming small bushes, weeding flower gardens, trimming perennials, etc. We have limited spaces available. If you would like to be added to our list, please contact the village office at (419) 644-2051, Monday thru Thursday, 8 am to 4 pm.

𝐎𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 #𝟐 - If you are a high school student in the Evergreen School District (regardless of actual school attending), we could use your assistance. This will earn you one entry for each one hour of approved community service work. One award automatically will be given to the Senior with the most cumulative community service hours. The other three will be via a drawing. Sign-up sheets for high schoolers are available at Evergreen High School, Metamora Village office and the Metamora Chamber of Commerce website.

The Village hosted our 3rd annual Arbor Day celebration last Friday at our community park. The event was open to the public as well as a visit from the Evergreen 3rd grade classes. The kids got to enjoy lunch, have some playtime with their friends and then learn all about trees and how to care for them. A new Red Autmn Blaze Maple tree was planted near the walking path of the park. The students were sent home with activity/coloring pages and will receive a tree sapling to plant at home probably sometime in November, after the frost. This event was sponsored by the Village, our Tree Commission members and The Gleaner Life Insurance Society, South Fairfield Arbor #607. Thank you to everyone who helped participate and all who joined us for this event.

📢 𝗔𝗧𝗧𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗜𝗗𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗦 𝗥𝗘: 𝟰-𝗪𝗛𝗘𝗘𝗟𝗘𝗥𝗦, 𝗦𝗜𝗗𝗘-𝗕𝗬-𝗦𝗜𝗗𝗘𝗦, 𝗗𝗜𝗥𝗧 𝗕𝗜𝗞𝗘𝗦 & 𝗚𝗢𝗟𝗙 𝗖𝗔𝗥𝗧𝗦.

The Village has received numerous complaints throughout the summer regarding 4-wheelers, side-by-sides, and other motorized vehicles being operated on the streets in town. Concerns have included speed, excessive noise, repeated trips up and down the roads, and general traffic and safety concerns.

The Fulton County Sheriff's Office has also received numerous complaints and has advised that they will begin enforcing the applicable laws and issuing citations when violations are observed.

➡️ Parents and guardians: Please remind your children and other family members to refrain from riding 4-wheelers, side-by-sides, or other non-street-legal motorized vehicles into town.

➡️ Residents who witness these vehicles being operated in violation of the law: The Fulton County Sheriff's Office is asking that you contact their office (419-335-4010) when you observe the activity so that law enforcement can address the situation.

The Village Office has received complaints all summer, and we want residents to understand that the Village cannot enforce these laws. Enforcement falls under the jurisdiction of our local law enforcement agency.

We hope this post serves two purposes:
• To make those operating these vehicles aware of the concerns and encourage them to stop riding these vehicles through town when they are not permitted by law.
• To let residents who have concerns know who to contact when they witness a violation.

Please also be aware that the Village's codified ordinances address golf carts as well. If a golf cart or other motorized vehicle is not street legal or does not meet the applicable requirements, the operator may also be subject to a citation from law enforcement.

We understand that these vehicles can be enjoyable to operate, and we ask everyone to be respectful of their neighbors, other motorists, pedestrians, and our community as a whole.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding. We appreciate everyone's efforts to help keep our streets safe, peaceful, and enjoyable for all residents.
