August 2018, new plans ... (reposted, from my page, yesterday, 8/24/18).
Good post Mayor Paul Heroux. I applaud the City of Attleboro for trying to improve on their efforts to recycle. 👏🌿♻️ Here, in Methuen, we still have no recycling bins/ barrels in any of the city parks or youth sports fields, as of today, 8/24/18. None... zero recycling at these parks + fields... 🤨 I worked hard to get recycle barrels for our high school football stadium, 2 years ago, but now they’ve all disappeared/ been taken away by the DPW. I will be addressing this issue again, soon. Please .. Methuen friends, Facebook–message me, or text me, or email me, if you would be willing to write a brief letter of support, saying ... “Yes, we should recycle in Methuen’s city parks and youth sports fields.” I will only use your letter of support in my scheduled meetings/ discussions with Mayor Jajuga, and elected officials. ♻️👏
Thank you,
Adam Chiocca
Former East District City Council Candidate, 2017
P.S. Also, fyi … disclaimer, ... I do not plan on running for office again, anytime soon.
The city is sends inspectors to look at the recycling bins and check for compliance.
Even after all of the efforts that I and the health department have been making over the past couple of months, people are still throwing things into the recycling stream that do not belong. This is a very good example.
The containers that you see in this picture should have been washed out. Also, the Market Basket and Stop & Shop plastic bags should not be thrown into the recycling stream.
