Good afternoon.

Following communication with our county government, the Town of Brunswick will open its Warming Center tomorrow morning at 8:00 a.m. 40 Poplar Street, Brunswick, NC, 28424, and remain open through Monday at 10:30 a.m

Please note: Hours are subject to change based on weather conditions and guidance from emergency management.

We ask everyone to stay prepared, pray for the best, but prepare for the worst.

Volunteers are needed. If you are interested in helping, please message me directly. Your support is greatly appreciated.

❄️ WINTER WEATHER ALERT ❄️

Freezing rain is expected to be the primary wintry precipitation, with some sleet possible. Ice and sleet amounts, along with the inland/coastal transition zone, remain uncertain.

⚠️ Key Impacts

Main window of concern: Late Saturday through Sunday

Hazardous travel is possible

Power outages may occur where heavier ice develops

Gusty winds (25+ mph) could increase the risk of downed trees and power lines

Dangerous cold follows into early next week, with wind chills dropping into the single digits Monday and Tuesday nights

The Columbus County Warming Center will be open throughout the weekend.

REPORT FROM THE FIELD— From Foster Care Licensing Worker Lytonia Alford: “Mayor Jason Elleby and the Town Of Brunswick staff sponsored 5 of our kiddos in foster care and purchased their Christmas wish list. They also held a fall festival last month to raise money for our foster care. They will be presenting foster care a monetary donation at their January Board meeting.

They have been a huge support and help to Foster Care over the last few months and hopefully in the future.” Sincerest thanks to the Town of Brunswick for their caring and giving!

We are pleased to announce that the Boil Water Advisory has been lifted effective immediately. You can now use water from the tap for all your needs without boiling it first.

We are pleased to inform the residents of Brunswick that the water supply has been restored. However, the Boil Water Advisory remains in effect until further notice. This is a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of our drinking water while we continue to monitor the situation.

We appreciate your patience and understanding during this time. Please remember to boil your water before use until the advisory is lifted.
