Metlakatla Senior Center Welcome to the Metlakatla Senior Center! We serve the elders of the Metlakatla Indian Community, A Ła Gwelga Lak! Ła Bała Sgan! Laamdzaxsm! A fire has been lit!

A place has been set for you! Come on in! Welcome to Wap Sagayt Gawdii Mangyigyet (House Where the Elders Gather Together)! We serve Congregate Lunch to our clients and guests:

Monday through Thursday
from 11:45am to 12:30pm,

and Breakfast on Fridays
from 9am to 11am. Home Delivered Meals are provided to Eligible Clients from 11:30am to 1:00pm. How much does it cost?? Clients make a suggeste

d donation of $1.75 per meal. Guests (non-clients) are charged $5.00 per meal. We also provide transportation for our Clients on the Senior Bus which is available for rides
from 8:30am to 11:00am and
from 1:00pm to 3:00pm. Our Bus Driver conducts Med Deliveries
from 3:00pm to 4:00pm. To qualify for our program, you must be:

Native, age 55 or over or

Non-Native, age 60 or over

The Metlakatla Senior Center would like to thank you to the Mayors office for the donation of herring eggs. We would also like to thank Mike Booth for the donation of lettuce. Thank you to Tia for donating potatoes. Also thank you to Joseph Ridley for the beautiful king salmon what a treat. We would also like to thank Roger Mckeehan and the Aleutian ballad for the 10 king crab, we are making salad today for our elders. I would also like to say thank you to Larry Hudson for cooking and cleaning our king crab for our salad today. You will all be blessed

A very big Thank you to Metlakatla Indian Community for giving the Sr center all those herring eggs. Today we had fish eggs and seaweed and rice for our elders.

Good Morning to Our Seniors & Friends 😍

Happy 1st Day of December. There will be no Home Deliveries for the Month of December 2020. We are very short staffed. There is supportive service checks going to active Seniors who receive any kind of service from the Seniors Center you will receive a check in the mail. Which includes bus rides and/or Medicine Delivery. One for November and one for December 2020. December Supportive Service will be later in December.

I, Pru, will be leaving the Senior Center Program, I have accepted another job within MIC. I will miss all you Seniors & Friends 🤩

Just a reminder we can do errands for any seniors needing assistance. Mail, Light Shopping, & can deliver documents/small items.

We are also providing rides to Seniors with Medical Appointments. Will have to use a mask and gloves. If you don't have a mask or gloves we can provide them for you.
