The Metropolis Police Department recently held its first annual “Paint the Tile” event at Massac County High School!
Students were asked to submit artwork for a chance to have their design painted on a tile that will be displayed at the Metropolis Police Department.
Congratulations to our winners, Faith Coates and Angel Jaco! Your artwork will be proudly displayed for years to come.
We appreciate all the students who participated—there was a lot of talent on display. We’re looking forward to making this an annual event!

It was great to catch-up with dozens of our Fight Crime: Invest in Kids members at the Illinois Association of Chiefs of Police conference in Springfield, including Chiefs LoCoco (of Lemont), Fillback (Edwardsville), Bridick (Madison), Brueggeman (O'Fallon), and Masse (Metropolis). LeCoco and Bridick were among the 26 chiefs we welcomed as new members Thursday, and we appreciate all these law enforcement execs' help in amplifying the crime-prevention significance of wise investments in children's learning and development.
