🏀🐅🏀”Championship Thursday” 🏆🏆🏆
The Metter Tiger Youth Basketball Camp was held May 26-28 at the Metter K-8 Complex for students in kindergarten through eighth grade. The camp gave young players a chance to learn the game, compete, and enjoy three exciting days of basketball instruction and team play.

Throughout the camp, players worked on the fundamentals of basketball, including shooting form, passing, dribbling, rebounding, and defense. Campers also learned the importance of being a good teammate, having a positive attitude, sharing the basketball, showing good sportsmanship, and helping lift up the players around them.

One of the camp favorites each day was the contest portion. Campers competed in free throws, the 3-point challenge, layups, and knock-out. Players also participated in team play through 3-on-3 and 5-on-5 games, where coaches stressed teamwork, effort, communication, and playing the game the right way.
The final day of camp was called “Championship Thursday,” where campers competed in championship rounds for the contests and team play. Congratulations to all of the champions and to every camper who participated and gave great effort throughout the week.

Coach Altman would like to thank Marsha Pate, Eric McNair, Broni Gainous, Shelton Rogers, Terrance Green, Kiontai Button, Katie Collins, Drew McIlrath, and high school players Emma West, Obadiah Jones, Kourtnee Whitfield, Hunter Sikes-Sutton, Lincoln Shuman, Collins Shuman, Jamie Scott, Zailee Thurman, Brooklyn Lawrence, Steven Black, KJ Singleton, and Kameron Koneman for helping in some capacity and making the camp a success. If I left someone off I apologize but we had so many people that were involved in making this a success.
