The Metter Tiger boys varsity basketball team travelled to Tattnall to play in the Warrior shootout. The Varsity defeated Toombs County by a score of 39-38. They led most of the game against Hephzibah but lost it late by a score of 51 to 50. The Tigers would fall to Glynn Academy pretty decisively in the final game of the day. The Tigers will travel to Vidalia on Tuesday to play in the Indian shootout. The team has been competitive in all their games and are working hard on getting better as a team.

Promote reading with an advertising lesson

To put a positive spin on screen time, pay attention to the ads when you watch a TV show with your child. Talk together about the words advertisers use to get viewers to buy things. Then, challenge your child to make a commercial for a favorite book. What points would your child make? How will your child convince people to stay tuned? Have your elementary schooler practice the ad and then "sell" the book to the entire family the next time you watch TV.

If your family watches an hour of network TV, you'll probably see about 16 minutes of commercials. What if your child could turn one of those minutes into an ad for a favorite book?

Metter High School Tiger Boys Basketball had summer play today in the Southeast Bulloch Summer shootout. The Jv and Varsity squads both played 3 games each. The varsity coming off a 20-9 season and sweet 16 appearance are looking to rebuild for this season. The Varsity Tigers lost to First Presbyterian in the first game in a close one 54-48. In the second game of the day the Tigers took Statesboro High into overtime losing by a score of 38-43. In the final game of the day the Tigers defeated Swainsboro by a score of 53-48. The Jv boys went 1-2 on the day defeating Southeast Bulloch.

The Annual Update (online registration) is now available for the 2026-2027 school year. This is available on Infinite Campus in your Parent Portal (you either have an app, or you can sign in here:

ALL returning students must complete this update.

Returning Students:
Parents of returning students will use the login and password they created for the Infinite Campus Parent Portal for the current school year. Please email [email protected] if you need password or username assistance with Infinite Campus Parent Portal. PASSWORD AND/OR USERNAME ISSUES WILL NOT BE HANDLED OVER THE PHONE.

Once you are logged into the Parent Portal on Infinite Campus, on the right hand side, click "Online Registration." At the top under EXISTING STUDENT REGISTRATION, you should be completing the portion that says "Kindergarten through 12th Grade Student Updates and Registration 2026-2027"

**REQUIRED for Returning Students....ALL returning students MUST provide Proof of Residency.

Acceptable Forms of Residency Proof: The name listed on the forms below MUST match the name of one of the child's legal guardians.
Residential utility bill (from within the last 60 days) - This does not include cell service providers/bills

Homeowner's insurance statement

The Georgia High School Golf Coaches Association(GHSGCA) has named All-State Teams for each GHSA Classification. Nominees were collected from Coaches across the State, and an All-State panel of GHSGCA Coaches in each Classification made final selections and it features several Metter Tigers!
