Candler County Probate Court

Candler County Probate Court Probate Court of Candler County, Georgia. County seat Metter, Ga. Probate court judges administer oaths of office and issue marriage licenses.

Georgia Probate courts exercise exclusive, original jurisdiction regarding the probate of wills, administration of estates, appointment of guardians (of minors and adults) and involuntary hospitalization of incapacitated adults and other individuals. Additionally Probate Court Judges must keep regular minutes of each session of the court (4 regular terms lasting 3 months each) and keep all records

that the business of the probate court may require. The records must be properly indexed, permanently housed, kept in an economical manner and must be accessible to the public. Many of the earliest records of the county are housed in the probate court vault. The probate court can also store the wills of living persons in the vault for safekeeping.

2 more days (and 3 hours today) of early voting. None on Monday (4th)

10/23/2024

Early voting turnout continues this week 8:30 to 5:00 p.m. The last Saturday voting is this Saturday Oct. 26 from 9 to 5. If you have any questions about your ballot or procedures do not hesitate to ask. We are aware of a header typo on the presidential race. It is purely a cosmetic typo and has no bearing on your choice. It can take weeks to reproof ballot proofs and get them loaded on the machines, therefore this typo will not be corrected for this election. But again it has no bearing on your choice which is indicated below the header on the printed ballot. These were tested multiple times for accuracy in counting.
Please check your ballot to confirm your choice on the printed ballot matches what you have chosen and if you have ANY questions please alert a poll worker.
