Important Information for Mainers Who Get Food Supplement Benefits (SNAP). ***Please SHARE this post so that Mainers who get food assistance will know about this change in how the benefits are administered because of the shutdown.***

As of Feb. 1, 2019, all applications need to be updated.
To ensure you will be served, on your first visit after Jan. 31, 2019 please be sure to bring the following,
A picture ID
Proof of your physical address (i.e. utility bill or current official mail). A license is not proof of address.
The most recent proof that you have established eligibility in one of the following: LIHEAP, TANF, MEDICAID, SNAP (formerly food stamps) or bring proof of income. Your eligibility is based on TEFAP guidelines.
All dependents must have an ID. 18 and over, a picture state ID and under 18 a birth certificate . If minors are covered by Medicare bring your document showing who is covered. It should show names and ages.
ALL paperwork must be complete to receive your food assistance.
Please remember that the TEFAP paper you sign each visit states that making false certification may result in having to pay the agency for the value of the food improperly issued and may be subject you to civil or criminal prosecution under the State of Federal law.

The new entry is done and so nice. Much wider and better lit. The stairs are much safer without the last big step at the bottom.
