Audrain County Shelter Resource Coalition

Audrain County Shelter Resource Coalition "Caring for those in need of shelter." We do this through our projects designed to address needs identified and not currently being addressed. Will you join us?

Audrain County Shelter Resource Coalition (ACSRC) is a 501(c)3 non-profit with the mission of "Caring for those in need of shelter." We are funded through local, state, and federal grants, by local fundraiser and individual and organizations donations, and fees from certain programs we provide. ACSRC consists of many agencies, organizations, churches and interested individuals who partner together

to ensure resources are available in our community. ACSRC recognizes that there is a tremendous need to provide shelter and affordable housing opportunities for our citizens and we are steadily working together with our partners to address these situations. ACSRC operates the Room at the Inn project which provides overnight emergency shelter for families and individuals that are in need during the coldest winter months, from December 1st - February 28 each year. ACSRC also operates The Summit Transitional Housing Program which is located in The Summit Building at 626 Summit St, Mexico, MO and our office is located in Suite A of this building. This a transitional living program where individuals and families with a source of income can participate in a program that temporarily provides residential living in a supported environment. The program participants are required to participate in case management, which will support the participants efforts to achieve a sustainable lifestyle. The program provides a dormitory style living environment with shared laundry and bathing facilities. The facility is manned and monitored to provide a safe living situation. The program is time-limited but flexible enough to make sure participants who are doing everything possible have the opportunity for success based on the effort they are willing to put in towards success. ACSRC is continual growing and expanding services in Audrain County. Our vision is to continue to ensure appropriate resources are available to prevent and reduce homeless, making Audrain County an even better area to reside and raise a family.

Get ready because this is going to be BIG!!!

The Harlem Wizards are coming back to town on October 28, and they are taking on our very own Mexico Muggles Hometown Heroes.

If you missed this EPIC Community Event last year, mark your calendars and get ready to be WOWED!

SAVE THE DATE: October 28.

This is not your average basketball game!

This is trick shots, laughs, wild moves, crowd fun, community pride, and a whole lot of “Did you just see that?” moments packed into one unforgettable night.

Even better, this event supports Room at the Inn and other ACSRC programs that help individuals and families facing homelessness in Audrain County.

Want to be part of the action?

You can come cheer from the stands.

You can sponsor the event and help make a real difference in our community.

You can even enter for a chance to be selected to play on the Mexico Muggles Team and go head-to-head with the Harlem Wizards.

That is right. You could be on the court. Under the lights. In front of the crowd. Making memories people will be talking about long after the final buzzer.

More details are coming soon, but for now, start spreading the word. The Wizards are returning, the Muggles are getting ready, and Mexico is in for a night we will not forget.

For more information about attending, sponsoring, or the chance to play, contact Executive Director Ra’Vae Moore at [email protected] or 573-469-5850.

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who showed up to help with the Room at the Inn Volunteer Work Day!

Because of your time, energy, hard work, and willingness to roll up your sleeves, we were able to make important progress preparing the shelter for the next phase of renovations. Every scraped wall, every cleared space, and every helping hand moved us one step closer to improving the shelter for the individuals who will depend on it this winter.

We are so grateful for the people who continue to show up for this mission and for our community. Your support reminds us that Room at the Inn is more than a building — it is a place of hope, dignity, warmth, and care.

Please note: not all of our amazing volunteers are pictured, but every single one of you is deeply appreciated. Thank you for helping us prepare the way for what comes next!

A HUGE thank you to the amazing employees of United Credit Union — and the spouses who joined them — for spending part of their Saturday helping us clean up the landscaping at the Summit Building!

They showed up ready to work, rolled up their sleeves, tackled bushes, leaves, weeds, and cleanup, and helped make the outside of the Summit Building look refreshed and welcoming. Their hard work, dedication, and generous donation of time truly made a difference.

Community partners like United Credit Union remind us what it looks like when people come together to care for one another and invest in the spaces that serve our neighbors. We are so grateful for your kindness, your teamwork, and your community spirit!

From all of us at ACSRC — thank you for helping us continue to create a place of hope, dignity, and stability.

Worry About Your Own SELF — and watch what happens.

Several members of the Summit Transitional Housing Program, pictured here, are committed to working hard on their own journey toward stability.

That means focusing on their goals.
Handling their responsibilities.
Building their future.

Stability does not happen overnight. It happens one choice, one step, one hard conversation, one goal, and one responsibility at a time. Every person in this photo is learning that the most powerful work they can do is the work they do within themselves. (Several participants are not pictured but are working just as hard!)

At Summit, “Worry About Your Own Self” is more than a saying. It is a reminder to stay focused, take accountability, keep growing, and keep moving forward.

Your progress. Your future. Your SELF.
