We are honored to serve Audrain County survivors, victims, and families alongside the dedicated staff at ACCIS, our local domestic and sexual violence resource center and shelter. They come alongside survivors and offer hope, warmth, protection and a path forward. During this National Crime Victims' Rights Week, we salute Erin, her staff and the larger community that's making our community safer for victims each and every day.

This week, we recognize National Crime Victims' Rights Week-a time to honor the strength, resilience, and courage of those who have experienced violence, and to reaffirm our commitment to supporting them every step of the way.

Each day this week we will be "Spotlighting" our advocates. Each advocate brings their own unique strengths, perspectives, and compassion for the work we do. When are qualities come together, we become an unstoppable force for support, healing, and change.

Today we are proud to spotlight our Executive Director, Erin Jackson. Whose leadership and dedication continue to guide our mission forward. With a deep passion for advocacy and compassion for those we serve, she works tirelessly to ensure that every survivor is heard, supported, and empowered.

At ACCIS, we stand beside victims of violence by providing critical services, including emergency shelter, advocacy, safety planning, legal support, and resources to help individuals and families rebuild their lives.

Every story matters, and every person deserves safety, dignity, and hope. This week-and every week- we honor survivors. We listen. We support. We act.

Thank you Erin for all you do!! Accis is definitely in great hands.

The decision to grant bond in State v. Kyle Parrish was made by the Court, over the objections of both the State and the victims, after considering arguments that the defendant posed a danger to the victim, the victim’s family, and the community. While this was not the outcome sought by the State or the victims, the Court’s ruling governs, and any release is subject to compliance with the bond conditions ordered by the Court. This case remains set for trial, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until the charges are proven beyond a reasonable doubt in court.

Our community came together to address a major issue in our community: internet po*******hy, social media, sexting and sextortion... and Defend Young Minds has great resources to continue the conversation.
Society often places internet po*******hy on young men -- but it has effects and impacts on young women, too. Have the conversation - even if it's awkward. Maybe especially because it's awkward.
YOU are important to your kids - and are more of an influence than influencers, social media, and random folks on the internet.

Today, we say "happy trails" to Det. Rich Ingram from the Audrain County Sheriff's Office. Rich has worked very closely with our office for years, serving as our attached Domestic & Sexual Violence Detective for several of those years. We've worked thousands or hours of cases together, tried cases, cussed and discussed cases and resolution of cases. I'll miss the smile and stride into my office, "just checking in on my courthouse peeps."
Although he's riding off into the sunset, black cowboy hat and all, he will be missed but not far away. From his military service to years as a law enforcement officer and as a field detective - you will not find a man more community-minded, sheep-dog style protector than Rich Ingram. We've learned a lot from him. Countless Audrain County families and children are safe today because he was a darn good Deputy, and he will always be a good man. We're so happy to celebrate with him today and wish him a "manageable" retirement. Enjoy, Rich - today's your day.

In Valor, there is Hope.
They knew the risks, did their jobs, and their lives were taken in an instant.
This is why law enforcement remains a dangerous job, and why our office asks for those who put our officers in peril and endanger the community to be held as who they are: dangerous to the community, dangerous to law enforcement, and potentially lethal.
May God comfort the families of the fallen Deputies, the wounded Deputies from Christian and Webster Counties and their families and co-workers, the law enforcement officers, dispatchers & first responders working the scenes, those officers who witnessed and were a part of this manhunt and standoff. and our colleagues at the Christian County Prosecuting Attorney's Office.
Help for Deputies and families is available through Warrior’s Rest Foundation, Concerns of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S.).

The past 14 hours have been the worst in decades for Missouri law enforcement.

Yesterday afternoon a Christian County Deputy Sheriff was shot and killed during a car stop. During the manhunt that ensued, in this morning's early hours, the suspect was located and a second Christian County Deputy was shot and killed and several other deputies and officers from other agencies were wounded. The suspect was killed in the exchange.

Our prayers go out to the men and women of the Christian County Sheriff's Office and their communities during this time that can only be described as devastating.
