✨ The 6th Annual Badass Women of the Year Awards, hosted by the Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce and the Women’s Business Council under the leadership of CEO Brittnie Bassant, brought together community leaders from across the region to celebrate South Florida’s accomplished women.

It was an honor to gather alongside distinguished city leaders—including Mayor Steven Meiner, Commissioner Monica Matteo-Salinas, and City Manager Eric Carpenter—as well as our own Miami Beach Convention Center leadership team led by General Manager Freddie Peterson, Oak View Group, alongside key team members from our sales & marketing and finance departments: Christian Jaramillo, Karen Castellon, Jay deJesus, Jennifer Samson Wielandt, Juan Carlos Henao, Melina Machin, and Paola Perez.

🌎 The MBCC at CEMA Summit 2026!

Christian Jaramillo, Associate Director of Sales at the Miami Beach Convention Center, recently represented the MBCC at CEMA Summit 2026 in Toronto, joining event marketing professionals from around the world for three days of education, networking, and industry conversations.

Hosted by the Corporate Event Marketing Association (CEMA), this year’s Summit brought together event leaders to share real-world strategies, case studies, and ideas shaping the future of the industry. Programming centered around three key areas — Impact, Influence, and Intention — with more than 40 sessions and 100+ speakers and practitioners covering topics such as global event strategy, AI and data, leadership, immersive experiences, storytelling, audience engagement, and measuring event impact.

The Summit also featured main stage speakers and industry panels, along with hands-on networking opportunities designed to connect event professionals and encourage the exchange of ideas and best practices.

We’re proud to have Christian represent the MBCC, connect with fellow event professionals, and bring new perspectives and ideas back to our team!

🌴🍽️ Experience Miami Spice at Rum Room!

Miami Spice Restaurant Months is celebrating its 25th anniversary, and Rum Room is joining the celebration with a special $50 three course menu featuring tropical and Caribbean inspired flavors.

Enjoy highlights including Caribbean Conch Fritters, Red W**e Braised Short Rib, Seared Tuna with Passionfruit Mango Salsa, and Mango Cheesecake with Torched Meringue.

This year, there’s even more time to enjoy Miami Spice, with the program continuing until the end of October. The special menu is available Tuesday through Saturday, beginning at 12 PM Tuesday through Friday and during regular operating hours on Saturday.
