Gather at Independence Hall. Be Part of History.

This Labor Day weekend, join Asian Americans and people of every background, generation, and community in Philadelphia for a historic gathering celebrating America’s 250th anniversary.

Stand in front of Independence Hall for a once-in-a-generation commemorative photo, then experience America’s founding principles in a way that goes far beyond a traditional conference.

This is not another event where you simply sit, listen, and leave.

DOI250AA is one of the most diverse and immersive experiences you will attend. Here, everyone is more than an attendee—everyone is a participant. Learn alongside people from different cultures, professions, and generations. Share your story, exchange ideas, ask questions, build meaningful relationships, and discover new perspectives through authentic conversations and small-group experiences.

The generations before us built the last 250 years. Now it is our turn to help shape the next 250—for ourselves and for future generations.

Whether you are an immigrant, a lifelong American, or somewhere in between, you’ll gain practical tools to think more clearly, break through limiting patterns, step outside routines that keep you running in circles, and grow with greater confidence in a pluralistic society.

From immigrant to stakeholder. From observer to participant. From ideas to action.

America’s 250th anniversary is more than a celebration of history—it is an invitation to become part of America’s next chapter.

Everyone is welcome.

Friday, June 12, 2026, Miami-Dade County Asian American Advisory Board presented a scholarship gift to the Florida International University Foundation to their FIU First Generation Scholarship Fund.

See below for Letter from FIU Foundation.

“On behalf of Ken Hall, CEO of the FIU Foundation, and the entire Florida International University community, please extend our sincere gratitude to the members of the Miami-Dade County Asian American Advisory Board for their extraordinary generosity and commitment to student success.

We are deeply honored by the Board’s $5,000 contribution to the FIU First Generation Scholarship Fund, as well as Chairman José Keichi Fuentes’ additional gift of $1,500, including support from Becker & Poliakoff, P.A. Together, this remarkable investment of $6,500 will be leveraged through the State of Florida’s matching program to create a total scholarship impact of $19,500 for FIU students.

What makes this gift especially meaningful is that it represents the collective efforts of current and former AAAB members who supported the Board’s 25th Anniversary and Community Appreciation Gala. Their generosity is creating opportunities for first-generation students, many of whom are the first in their families to pursue a college degree, to achieve their educational goals and transform the future of their families and communities.

Ken was honored to join the Board for the scholarship presentation and asked that I convey his personal appreciation for the leadership, vision, and community spirit demonstrated by the AAAB. Partnerships such as yours exemplify the power of community organizations coming together to create lasting impact and expand access to higher education.

Thank you again for your partnership, your newfound friendship, and your unwavering commitment to the students of FIU. We are grateful for all that the Asian American Advisory Board continues to do to strengthen our South Florida community.

With sincere appreciation,

Corporate & Foundation Relations, University Advancement, FIU Foundation”

Let us keep on building and encouraging our future leaders through collective efforts and actions.

Thank you! Miami-Dade Community Advocacy Asian American Advisory Board
